PROGRAM SUPERVISOR JOB TITLE PROGRAM SUPERVISOR PART TIME DEPARTMENT PARKS AND RECREATION-REYNOLDS NATURE PRESERVE
MUST MEET MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Bachelors Degree in Recreation Administration or closely related field preferred High School Diploma or GED required supplemented by experience in recreation services, aquatics, or nature-based programming or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job.
Must possess and maintain a valid Georgia drivers license. May be required to work up to 25 hours per week. Days and times may vary.
NATURE OF WORK
Assist Recreation Center Manager or division Administrator with programs, services, and facilities within the Clayton County Parks and Recreation system, including but not limited to:
• Aquatics • Nature and recreational programs • Schedule • Meet with potential new business customers and provide information related to the indoor and outdoor rental facilities • Supervises, directs, and evaluates assigned staff • Processes seasonal employee concerns and problems • Directs work and completes employee performance appraisals • Develop work plan for program area • Perform any and all administrative functions as assigned by supervisor
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES INCLUDE
• Assist Recreation Superintendent and Assistant Recreation Administrator with programs, services, and facilities within the Clayton County Parks and Recreation system • Responsible for conducting a variety of 4-H programming in Recreation Centers, which will include after-school and summer programming • Encourage to identify and develop community partnerships with other youth-serving organizations • Will help assess community youth programming needs and submit recommendations to Department and Extension Service Leadership • Encouraged to identify 4-H parent volunteers and refer 4-H coordinator for screening, training, and certification • Conduct and oversee educational club meetings, project clubs, and community projects • Schedule and meet with potential new business customers and provide information related to the indoor and outdoor rental facilities • Supervises, directs, and evaluates assigned staff • Processing seasonal employee concerns and problems • Directing work and completing employee performance appraisals • Assist with posting and filling summer camp positions, after-school positions, and screens applicants • Develop work plan for program area • Perform any and all administrative functions as assigned by supervisor • Performs other related duties as required.
ADA COMPLIANCE
Physical Ability Tasks require the ability to exert light physical effort in sedentary to light work but which may involve some lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling of objects and materials of light weight (525 pounds). Tasks may involve extended periods of time at a keyboard or work station.
Sensory Requirements
Some tasks require the ability to perceive and discriminate sounds and visual cues or signals. Some tasks require the ability to communicate orally.
Environmental Factors
Performance of essential functions may require exposure to adverse environmental conditions such as dirt, dust, pollen, odors, humidity, rain, temperature, or noise extremes, toxic or pathogenic substances, or traffic hazards.
SELECTION PROCEDURE
Selection will be made from a register of eligible applicants that may be established by education, work experience, test score, personal interview, credit check, criminal history, driving history, copy of drivers license, may be required drug screen and/or physical examination.
