Job Description
This position provides support to the Director of the Office of Safe Schools in the implementation of the Department's safe schools mission as established by the State Board of Education, the Commissioner of Education, and Legislature, through state goals, priority objectives, the Strategic Imperative Plan, and other policy and procedural directives related to K-12 education.

The incumbent must be willing and able to travel frequently within their assigned counties within the central region and occasionally to other regions within the state as needed. Additionally, the incumbent must reside in one of the counties within the central region.
The Central Region includes Brevard, DeSoto, Hardee, Hernando, Highlands, Hillsborough, Indian River, Lake, Manatee, Okeechobee, Osceola, Pasco, Pinellas, Polk, Sarasota, Seminole, St. Lucie, Sumter.

BACKGROUND SCREENING REQUIREMENT
It is the policy of the Florida Department of Education that applicants for employment/volunteer undergo Level 2 background screening in accordance with the requirements of Chapter 435, Florida Statutes, as a condition of employment or being permitted to serve as a volunteer.
