This is a full-time, permanent position based on Molokai; however, the selected candidate is required to report to the Maui office for the duration of the training and probationary period. Upon successful completion of probation, the reporting location will transfer to Molokai, with travel to Maui and Lanai as required.
Participates in the development and implementation of one or more programs at the department level; conducts program and operational studies and analyses; participates in developing plans, program evaluation and policy recommendations; and performs other related duties as required.
This class differs from the Program Specialist I in that the Program Specialist II performs the full range of program planning and development at the departmental level; whereas the Program Specialist I is responsible for programs of limited scope and complexity.
This class differs from the Program Specialist III in that the Program Specialist II performs the full range of program planning and development at the departmental level; whereas the Program Specialist III performs as a senior worker with the overall responsibility for the program planning, direction, coordination, development and implementation of activities for one or more major components of the department's programs.
