POSITION (S): Program Social Worker

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Master's Degree from an accredited program
  • New Jersey Permanent Certification in discipline
  • Must have strong case management experience
  • Experience working with diverse young children and families
  • Demonstrate strong communication and organizational skills
  • Fluent in Spanish (Oral and Written), preferred

The Program Social Worker at a minimum will:

  1. Collaborate with all relevant preschool instructional staff, administrators, and support

personnel to support school district family service program.

  1. Coordinate with other available school district resource staff to reach families, determine

individual family needs, advocate on their behalf, and obtain appropriate community

services.

  1. Provide follow-up, including a review of child needs when necessary

  2. Facilitate access to community social services, when appropriate

  3. Collaborate with assigned school district personnel to design and provide a family

involvement program based on identified needs and family survey responses,

  1. Collaborate with preschool instructional staff, administrators, and support personnel to

implement and sustain a high-quality family services program.

  1. Work collaboratively with the Community Parent Involvement Specialist.

  2. Help families learn about child development, nutrition, safety, and how to support their

child's learning

  1. Maintain thorough documentation of their work with preschool instructional staff,

administrators, support personnel, and families.

  1. Help with the coordination of preschool registration, recruitment, and promote

registration information with the community.

  1. Organize and present workshops and family engagement events focused on early

childhood development, family wellness, and academic readiness, fulfilling N.J.A.C.

6A:13A-4.4(a)(4).

  1. Provide follow up support to address chronic absenteeism.

  2. Perform other duties as assigned.

SALARY: As Per Contractual Agreement
