Department Information
Established in 1990, the Ivan Allen College of Liberal Arts is a pioneer of liberal arts education and research at the nexus of the technical and human sciences. The academic programs are internationally acclaimed as models for liberal arts education in a technological age. Job Summary
The Program Ops Director will manage the day-to-day operations of advancing, supporting, and evaluating activities that support and further strategic initiatives for a college/unit. As an individual contributor, this position will serve as a strategic partner, implementation lead, and primary point of contact for multiple activities and/or initiatives as assigned. This position will design and execute comprehensive implementation plans to achieve strategic goals.

Responsibilities
Job Duty 1 -
Plan, manage, and execute events, initiatives, and programs.
Job Duty 2 -
Lead strategic development, implementation, and expansion of multiple initiatives and programs, ensuring alignment with college/unit strategic goals

Evaluate effectiveness of events, initiatives, and programs utilizing data and feedback to propose modifications and enhancements to achieve high-impact outcomes

Develop and disseminate key messages and marketing materials for internal and external audiences in collaboration with communications team

Collaborate with stakeholders to determine necessary resources and measure engagement, success, and outcomes

Oversee coordination and deliver direct logistical and operational support for college/unit events, initiatives, and programs in collaboration with internal and external partners

Develop, administer, and manage budgets, ensuring cost-effectiveness and maximizing impact

Define assessment goals and oversee reporting to highlight success, garner input, and propose recommendations to leadership and key stakeholders

Bachelors Degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience

Preferred experience includes but is not limited to administering programming, knowledge of the University environment or higher education, general administrative functions, and complex meeting and event planning.

ABILITIES
Advanced computer skills including Microsoft Office related computer applications.
Organize information sessions (Atlanta) and orientation events (Atlanta & DC)
Coordinate meetings and events, which may include venue selection and booking, manage food and beverage orders, etc., process invitations
Communicate with, and coordinate, students and guest speakers
Purchase/acquire necessary equipment and supplies
Coordinate GTDC admissions process
Manage with student recruitment activities, such as coordinate GTDC alum to recruit on campus, manage the application process, collect and disseminate student applicant information, facilitate on-campus recruitment initiatives
Create and distribute surveys and correspondence
Manage GTDC program operations
Arrange GTDC student site visits (communicate with hosts, collect student names, manage food orders where applicable, help arrange transportation where applicable, finalize event logistics including travel)
Assist with mentorship program
Liaise between WISH and students on housing issues
Coordinate between Higher Education Learning Council (HELC)
Retrieve and disseminate Atlas reports during admissions and payments process
Assist in the development and submission of biannual OIE proposals
Order supplies and materials (e.g. swag)
Assist with informational surveys for GTDC students
Act as a PoC with Federal Jacket program,students, faculty, campus, and stakeholder during emergencies
Assist in budgeting and funds management and the processing of receipts
Administrate WMATA student passes
Represent GTDC at WPC
Serve as a point of contact between GTDC and DC area alumni, and between GTDC and the relevant alumni relations stakeholders in the DMV (e.g. local alumni groups) and at the Atlanta campus (GT Alumni Relations and the GT Alumni Association).
KNOWLEDGE
Knowledgeable on current high-impact practices in higher education. Demonstrated knowledge of representing and conveying the college/unit mission and helping meet its goals. Must be able to participate in relevant professional development activities as outlined by leadership. Knowledge and expertise in operations planning.
SKILLS
Excellent verbal and written communication, and customer service skills. Skilled at aggregating and analyzing data. Excellent organizational, interpersonal skills. A must have mindset that includes initiative, independent judgement, teamwork, problem solving.

The GTDC (Pathways to Policy) Program (https://pathways2policy.gatech.edu/) offered by the Georgia Institute of Technology invites applications for an administrative position in the Washington DC area. Currently, this position is mostly virtual, with occasional in-person activities required (often related to events and event management). Successful applicants should therefore live in the DMV and have access to personal or public transportation in the DC area and be comfortable using it. Professionalism, maturity, and attention to detail are essential. Job duties will include program administration, events management, student relations, alumni relations, information gathering, and service activities in the Washington DC area. Travel to Atlanta maybe required.
