Saint Alphonsus is seeking a highly strategic Program Manager of Clinical Experiences to overhaul and lead the coordination and optimization of clinical placements for Nursing and Allied Health students. This role is instrumental in advancing academic partnerships and ensuring that clinical education experiences are seamless, high-quality, and aligned with workforce development goals.
Reporting to the Manager of Student Services, the Program Manager of Clinical Experiences is responsible for the planning, coordination, and operational oversight of all clinical placements across the Saint Alphonsus Health System. In collaboration with the Manger of Student Services this position plays a critical role in redesigning current clinical placement processes and fostering strong relationships with academic partners to support innovative models of clinical education.
The Program Manager serves as a key liaison between Saint Alphonsus, academic institutions, and internal stakeholders, ensuring that clinical experiences are well-organized, impactful, and contribute to the organization’s long-term talent pipeline. This role supports strategic initiatives that enhance student programming, improve patient outcomes, and address current and future workforce needs in Nursing and Allied Health.
In addition to the responsibility of program oversight and student supervision this position promotes an integrative approach to patient care, research and community education, as well as supporting and leading outreach efforts with the Talent and Acquisition team in the community. Responsible for the program’s overall performance, which includes the collection and measurement of applicable Trinity and national indicators.
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
+ Must possess comprehensive knowledge of student clinical experiences, program development, project management, clinical education needs, clinical coordination and academic partnerships as normally obtained through 5 years of experience in variety of healthcare settings with supervisory experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
+ Bachelor’s degree required. Master's degree preferred.
+ Must maintain appropriate continuing education annually specific to topics related to assigned specialty, program management, behavior change, and self-management strategies.
+ Previous experience with myClinicalExchange (clinical rotation management software) preferred, or previous experience with similar software platforms.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
+ Clinical Placement Oversight
+ Manage the coordination and placement of nursing and allied health students across all Saint Alphonsus sites.
+ Overhaul and streamline clinical placement processes to ensure efficiency, compliance, and an exceptional student experience.
+ Academic Partnership Support
+ Collaborate with academic partners to maintain and strengthen relationships that support high-quality clinical education.
+ Contribute to the development and implementation of formalized academic partnerships in alignment with organizational goals.
+ Operational Excellence
+ Delegate to and work closely with Education Affiliation Agreement Coordinators to ensure compliance and a seamless approach to clinical coordination.
+ Monitor and evaluate program performance using Trinity Health and national indicators to drive continuous improvement.
+ Student Experience & Workforce Development
+ Promote a culture of excellence in clinical education through relationship-building with students, faculty, unit managers, and preceptors.
+ Partner with Talent Acquisition and community stakeholders to support outreach efforts and workforce development initiatives.
+ Data & Innovation
+ Support data collection and analysis to inform program enhancements and future workforce planning.
+ Contribute to innovative models of clinical education that improve patient outcomes and enhance student and colleague experiences.
