Summary
Our client is seeking an experienced NPI Materials Program Manager to support new product introduction efforts within a highly dynamic and fast-paced supply chain environment. This role is responsible for ensuring material readiness across development builds, driving forecasting accuracy, and enabling successful product launches.
This position is ideal for a highly organized, detail-oriented professional with strong supply chain and program management experience who thrives in ambiguous environments and operates effectively through cross-functional influence.
The NPI Materials Program Manager will partner closely with Engineering, Operations, Finance, Procurement, and external manufacturing partners to drive material planning, build readiness, and continuous improvement across NPI processes.
Key Responsibilities
Materials Planning & Execution
- Lead material planning, forecasting, and readiness for development and pre-production builds
- Drive Clear-to-Build (CTB) readiness across all build phases
- Propose and execute optimized supply planning strategies to support build schedules
- Identify and resolve material constraints impacting production timelines
Budget & Forecast Management
- Partner with Finance and Engineering teams to manage materials budget and spend
- Monitor forecasting accuracy and adjust plans to align with program needs
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Act as a primary interface between Engineering, Operations, Procurement, Finance, and Manufacturing Partners
- Lead regular supply planning meetings with internal stakeholders and external partners
- Drive alignment across cross-functional teams to ensure program success
Supplier & Build Management
- Support supplier qualification and alternate sourcing efforts in partnership with Engineering
- Manage materials execution across multiple build phases and manufacturing partners
Process Improvement
- Identify and implement improvements to NPI materials planning processes
- Drive operational efficiencies across supply chain workflows
Required Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree or master's degree
- 5+ years of experience in supply chain, materials planning, or related field
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Experience in NPI (New Product Introduction) supply chain management
- Strong program/project management skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
- Highly detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
- Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced, changing environment
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel
Preferred Skills & Qualifications
- Experience working with OEM manufacturing environments
- Familiarity with ERP and planning systems such as SAP or Oracle
- Exposure to Agile methodologies and program tracking tools
- Experience with tools such as Numbers, Keynote, or Pages
- PMP, APICS, CSCP, or CPIM certifications
