Job Purpose:
The Program Manager, Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) Training & Education is responsible for the implementation and management of federally and state-funded programs designed to strengthen the HIV syndemic workforce across the state of Michigan. This role oversees the delivery of training programs, technical assistance, clinical consultation, and coordination of clinical preceptorship opportunities.
The Program Manager plays a critical role in supervising program staff, coordinating educational initiatives, and ensuring compliance with grant requirements, while advancing interprofessional education and clinical capacity-building efforts. Key responsibilities include executing approved workplans, supporting continuous quality improvement, and contributing to sustainable HIV workforce development outcomes. This position reports to the Associate Director, MATEC Michigan.
Essential Functions:
HIV Training & Education Program Implementation and Management:
Oversee and direct the daily execution of federally and state-funded grant workplans supporting HIV syndemic workforce development, ensuring all activities are aligned with grant requirements, approved scopes of work, and established program timelines.
Training, Technical Assistance, and Practice Transformation:
Lead and support the delivery of HIV-focused clinical education, interprofessional training, and practice transformation initiatives, collaborating closely with the Clinician Training Specialist and Associate Director to strengthen healthcare provider capacity and system-level performance.
Staff Supervision and Team Coordination:
Supervise and support program staff responsible for training coordination, data tracking, curriculum development, and technical assistance delivery, fostering a collaborative and high-performing team environment.
Grant Compliance, Reporting, and Documentation:
Ensure accurate documentation of program activities, outputs, and outcomes; oversee data collection and reporting requirements; and maintain compliance with HRSA, state, and institutional policies.
Budget and Workplan Support:
Partner with the Associate Director to develop, monitor, and manage program budgets and workplans, including tracking expenditures, personnel effort, and alignment with approved grant activities.
Stakeholder Engagement and Partnership Development:
Coordinate with clinical sites, academic partners, community-based organizations, and public health agencies to support training delivery, recruitment of participants, and alignment with regional HIV workforce needs.
Continuous Quality Improvement and Program Evaluation:
Participate in continuous quality improvement efforts by monitoring program performance metrics, incorporating feedback from learners and partners, and supporting refinements to training and technical assistance approaches.
