Program Manager - Hit-Skip Investigations- Part-Time Monday-Friday | Up to 20 hours per week | $35.31 per hour |

What You'll Do
You'll gather information for hit-skip traffic cases within the City of Fort Wayne. This position works with victims, witnesses, suspects, tow companies, officers, and command staff to gather evidence, document findings, and move cases toward resolution.
Key Responsibilities
Review hit-skip cases for solvability factors and credible investigative leads
Interview victims, witnesses, suspects, and owners of suspected vehicles
Process scenes and vehicles, collect evidence, and document findings through photographs, video, and detailed reports
Coordinate vehicle transport, storage, impoundment, and release with tow companies and Police personnel
Enter case information into Spillman and prepare charging information when supported by the investigation
What You Bring: Education & Experience
High school diploma or GED
Former sworn officer with the Fort Wayne Police Department required
Advanced knowledge of law-enforcement investigations and FWPD procedures
Traffic Division or Fatal Accident Crash Team investigation experience preferred
Ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment with limited supervision
Certifications & Requirements
Valid Indiana driver's license
Must maintain retired-officer firearms qualification when carrying a firearm
A firearm may only be carried with written approval from the Chief of Police
Technical Skills & Knowledge
Knowledge of traffic and hit-skip investigation procedures
Strong interviewing, evidence collection, case documentation, and analytical skills
Proficiency with Spillman, Microsoft Office, spreadsheets, and department reporting systems
Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Spanish or Burmese language skills preferred
