Customer Trust External Relations (CTXR) ensures global thought-leaders, brands, policymakers, regulators, consumer advocates, and media understand how Amazon delivers our trustworthy shopping experience by (1) delivering evidence and telling stories that persuasively demonstrate the reality of the customer-obsessed tools our teams build to protect our customers, brands, and selling partners, (2) accelerating and strengthening third-party, influential relationships and partnerships all over the world that raise the bar for retail to consumers' benefit, and (3) serving as a "voice of the customer" for product and tech teams.

We are looking for a people-focused and results-oriented Program Manager (PM) based in WAS19, Amazon HQ2, who will execute and support the larger CTXR team on key projects across multiple initiatives, proactively drive program improvements and mechanisms, oversee team budget, ad-hoc projects that drive efficiency and deliver results, and execute external events. This individual will work closely with program leaders, our events lead, as well as administrative, Finance, and HR partners to ensure we structure, prioritize, and track programs that execute on our vision. The PM will be part of a global Strategic Initiatives team that drives centralization and adoption of mechanisms and strives for operational excellence.

This role requires high attention to detail, organizational skills, experience planning and executing events, and the ability to meet tight deadlines. The candidate will be comfortable in a fast-paced, fluid environment, while maintaining great flexibility, a sense of humor and composure. They should also be proactive in understanding and communicating critical business needs and know how those translate into solutions. This person must have experience building long-term, strategic relationships, and becoming influential partners. They will not only successfully develop and drive programs across teams, but is willing to roll up their sleeves, have a strong backbone, dive into the weeds to get the job done, focusing on the data and details to ensure the right inputs are top of mind for our customers and stakeholders.

Key job responsibilities

  • Handle a high volume of requests, engagements, and interactions in a fast-paced environment.
  • Maintain existing and set up new mechanisms for the CTXR team.
  • Actively identify and resolve gaps or dependencies between projects, act on any not being tracked/actioned.
  • Oversee a team's budget, working closely with Finance and Billing to secure financial spending, and associated internal and external deadlines are met.
  • Own and facilitate internal reporting for the team such as ROB calendars, upcoming deadlines, and more.
  • Support event management and workflows, including pre-production logistics planning, onsite execution, and post-event wrap up.
  • Development of project plans, and manage deliverables and timelines associated with the event plan.
  • Track, collect, and report on event metrics, and analyze program elements for effectiveness to measure success and YoY improvement recommendations.

Amazon.com Inc

At Amazon, we don’t wait for the next big idea to present itself. We envision the shape of impossible things and then we boldly make them reality. So far, this mindset has helped us achieve some incredible things. Let’s build new systems, challenge the status quo, and design the world we want to live in. We believe the work you do here will be the best work of your life.

Wherever you are in your career exploration, Amazon likely has an opportunity for you. Our research scientists and engineers shape the future of natural language understanding with Alexa. Fulfillment center associates around the globe send customer orders from our warehouses to doorsteps. Product managers set feature requirements, strategy, and marketing messages for brand new customer experiences. And as we grow, we’ll add jobs that haven’t been invented yet.

It’s Always Day 1
At Amazon, it’s always “Day 1.” Now, what does this mean and why does it matter? It means that our approach remains the same as it was on Amazon’s very first day – to make smart, fast decisions, stay nimble, invent, and stay focused on delighting our customers. In our 2016 shareholder letter, Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos shared his thoughts on how to keep up a Day 1 company mindset. “Staying in Day 1 requires you to experiment patiently, accept failures, plant seeds, protect saplings, and double down when you see customer delight,” he wrote. “A customer-obsessed culture best creates the conditions where all of that can happen.” You can read the full letter here

Our Leadership Principles
Our Leadership Principles help us keep a Day 1 mentality. They aren’t just a pretty inspirational wall hanging. Amazonians use them, every day, whether they’re discussing ideas for new projects, deciding on the best solution for a customer’s problem, or interviewing candidates.
