Program Liaison, Transplant Liver Acquisition, Full Time, Days

Summary

The Transplant Program Liaison works collaboratively with the various constituencies of the hospital (public relations, physicians, dept. clinical and support staff etc.) to develop and implement outreach, program development, and marketing plans for the Miami Transplant Institute and for special projects as assigned. Coordinates all outreach activities including patient and other professional symposia; cultivates relationships with referring nephrologists and dialysis units; facilitates referring physician and dialysis unit site-visits for staff and patient education. Develops, maintains and analyzes database of referral sources; assists with editing, writing and designing educational brochures, newsletters, presentations and outreach materials. Reviews marketing/advertising opportunities available by thorough market analysis and business development strategies.

Responsibilities

Coordinates and facilitates all outreach activities including, but not limited to: Referring physician and Dialysis Center visits and follow up; Patient Symposia and support groups; Focus Groups for transplant recipients and donors; Volunteer Program; Transplant Surgeon Designee symposia; MD/Coordinator outreach symposia. Ensuring first-rate education and quality management regarding Transplant amongst the referring network. Assists with the development of marketing tools including but not limited to: Publications; Educational materials; Website development/maintenance; Presentations. Also coordinates the writing, editing, design, printing and mailing, if applicable, of transplant educational and outreach materials. Works closely with Public Relations in all aspects of marketing and outreach activities for the Transplant Program. Acts as liaison in such areas as providing assistance in preparation of major releases, feature stories and photo opportunities, for example. Develop, monitor, and oversee implementation of strategic marketing plans specific to the Transplant Institute. Develops systems and procedures to monitor the department outreach activities to ensure that results are measurable and effective in meeting Dept. goals. Provide referring physicians any necessary teaching of referral procedures, disease process, transplant process, medications, donor awareness, pre and post operative teaching, testing procedures, health care maintenance and donor procedures. Collaborates with members from within the transplant institute to identify marketing opportunities to achieve the most effective strategies to grow business based on customers'' needs and wants. Develops relationships with outside organizations as needed to accomplish Department goals, including but not limited to: Professional Organizations such as AST; ANNA, NATCO and UNOS; Patient Organizations such as NKF, AAKP and KUFA. Identify and Facilitate application for educational program funding from internal and external sources such as pharmaceutical companies. Creatively maintain and enhance education and communication with referring community, functioning as a ""point of contact"" for referring physicians. Demonstrates behaviors of service excellence and CARE values (Compassion, Accountability, Respect and Expertise). Performs all other related job duties as assigned.

Experience

Generally requires 3 to 5 years of related experience.

Education

Bachelor''s degree in related field is required

Physical Requirements - Job function is sedentary in nature and requires sitting for extended periods of time. Function may require frequent standing or walking. Must be able to lift or carry objects weighing up to 20 pounds.
