Summary of Job Duties:

The Program Director of the RN Program is supervised by the Dean of STEM and Nursing, and is responsible for coordinating instructional activities in the RN Program.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

  • Assist in the development of the class schedule for the department within the division as requested.
  • Assist in ensuring all Arkansas State Board of Nursing rules and regulations are followed.
  • Assist the Dean and appropriate search committees in the recruitment and selection of full-time and part-time faculty.
  • Supervising and evaluating the performance of full-time and part-time faculty members as assigned.
  • Conducting departmental faculty meetings and coordinating the departmental assessment activities within the division.
  • Monitoring departmental budgets and assisting in the development of budget and equipment requests.
  • Coordinating the reporting of textbooks to the bookstore.
  • Assist with advising nursing students as needed.
  • Assist with the advisory committee meetings designated for the department within the division.
  • Work cooperatively with the Practical Nursing Program Director conducting reviews as assigned by the State Board of Nursing.
  • Teaching classes assigned by the Dean of STEM and Nursing.
  • Performing other duties as assigned by the Vice-Chancellor for Academic Services.

Qualifications:

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Master's Degree in Nursing or Nursing Education
  • Previous teaching experience at the College-level

Other job-related education and/or experience may be substituted for all or part of these basic requirements upon recommendation of the Chancellor.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Previous experience as a supervisor in the nursing field

  • Able to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
  • Able to manage time, prioritize projects, and organize schedules
  • Able to effectively oversee and manage the work assignments and responsibilities of your subordinates
  • Basic knowledge of budget evaluation and preparation
  • Proficient in the use of computers and computer programs such as, but not limited to Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint.

Salary Information:

$65,000 - $71,000, commensurate with education and experience
