Description:
Directs an ongoing university program to ensure that prescribed activities are carried out in accordance with its mission and/or specified objectives. Prepares short- and long-term goals and objectives.
Plans, develops and administers methods, strategies and procedures for meeting program objectives; directs and oversees the daily activities of staff members.
Prepares and monitors the annual budget and ensures that expenditures are within budget allocation.
Directs and coordinates personally, or through subordinate personnel, activities concerned with carrying out the objectives of the program.
Directs the preparation of and reviews reports and records of activities to ensure progress is being accomplished toward specified program objectives; modifies or changes methodology as required to redirect activities and attains objectives.
Analyzes trends within program areas, maintaining expert awareness of program information and change needs.
Formulates, implements, and maintains appropriate policies and procedures concerning program administration.
Manages and administers grant for program, including meetings, communication coordination, scholarships and other operations.
May prepare or participate in the preparation of proposals to obtain grants from state and federal agencies, and private foundation sponsors.
Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Description:
This position works in the Rockwell Career Center at the C. T. Bauer College of Business.
The Assistant Director of Experiential Learning supports the development, administration, and continuous improvement of high-impact experiential learning initiatives within the C.T. Bauer College of Business. This role bridges classroom theory with practical application by coordinating internships, project-based learning, case competitions, co-curricular experiences, approves study abroad for academic credit, and Curricular Practical Training (CPT) processes for international students. The position works closely with faculty, students, university offices, and external partners to expand experiential learning opportunities that enhance student engagement, career readiness, and academic success.
Primary Responsibilities
Experiential Learning Program Administration
- Manage and support experiential learning initiatives across undergraduate and graduate programs, including internships, co-ops, case competitions, project-based learning, and study abroad experiences.
- Administer Edusourced, Canvas, Forage, and other related platforms for faculty teaching project-based courses within Bauer College.
- Coordinate operational processes that support experiential learning activities, including student onboarding, documentation, tracking, and reporting.
- Support faculty in integrating applied learning experiences into academic coursework and co-curricular programming.
International Student Support and Compliance
- Process and manage CPT-related documentation for undergraduate and graduate international students in coordination with ISSSO.
- Serve as a Designated School Official (DSO) authorized to review and approve Curricular Practical Training (CPT) requests for eligible F-1 students.
- Evaluate employment opportunities to ensure alignment with academic program requirements and federal immigration regulations.
- Maintain compliance with university policies and federal regulations governing international student employment authorization.
Employer and Partner Engagement
- Cultivate and maintain relationships with employers, industry leaders, alumni, nonprofit organizations, and community partners to expand experiential learning opportunities.
- Develop partnerships that provide students with internships, consulting projects, competitions, coaching/mentoring and other applied learning experiences.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to identify emerging industry needs and align experiential opportunities with workforce trends.
Assessment and Continuous Improvement
- Develop and maintain metrics to assess program effectiveness, student outcomes, participation, and engagement.
- Prepare reports and documentation supporting accreditation, assessment, and strategic planning efforts.
- Use data-informed practices to improve program quality, operational efficiency, and student impact.
- Ensure experiential learning initiatives align with institutional goals and accreditation standards.
Student and Faculty Support
- Advise students on experiential learning opportunities, eligibility requirements, timelines, and professional expectations.
- Provide guidance and training to faculty utilizing experiential learning technologies and platforms.
- Support workshops, orientations, and informational sessions related to internships, CPT, project-based learning, and career readiness.
Administrative and Technology Support
- Utilize university systems and technologies including Canvas, PeopleSoft Enrollment, Concur Travel, and experiential learning platforms.
- Maintain accurate records, reports, and documentation related to student participation and program activities.
- Assist with budgeting, scheduling, travel coordination, and operational logistics as needed.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree.
- Minimum of three (3) years of experience in higher education, experiential learning, student services, career services, international student services, or a related field.
- Experience working with experiential learning programs such as internships, project-based learning, or employer partnerships.
- Knowledge of F-1 student regulations and Curricular Practical Training (CPT) processes.
- Strong organizational, communication, and relationship management skills.
- Experience using learning management systems and university administrative platforms.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Higher Education, Student Affairs, Business, or a related field.
- Familiarity with Edusourced and Canvas or similar experiential learning/project management platforms.
- Experience collaborating with faculty and external industry partners in an academic environment.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to interpret and apply federal regulations and university policies.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills.
- Proficiency with Canvas, PeopleSoft, Concur, Microsoft Office Suite, and related technologies.
