This Program Coordinator position for the Scholarship Collective in Durango's Advancement & Support Hub (DASH) supports operations for student programs housed within the office, with primary responsibility for coordinating the Momentum Scholarship program. Key duties include participating in Momentum working groups at University of Nebraska at Omaha (UNO) and Metropolitan Community College (MCC), collaborating for student recruitment and onboarding, tracking the program budget and scholarship distribution, and developing student engagement and support activities.

This position provides direct student support through one-on-one academic coaching and group programming for the Momentum learning community. The coordinator assists scholars in accessing academic and student success resources at UNO and maintains knowledge of community-based resources available to students.

The role also supports efforts to improve the transfer student experience by helping students navigate university systems and services. Additional responsibilities include contributing to DASH operations through academic coaching, assisting with the DASH Peer Mentor program, participating in strategic planning efforts, and performing other duties as assigned. Flexibility, collaboration, and a positive, student-centered approach are essential for success in this role.

NOTE: This is a grant funded position through the 2028-2029 academic year. Employment beyond that date is contingent upon securing continued funding.

Job Duties

Responsibility Area: Manage Scholarship Operations Duties:

Collaborate with the Momentum team in the recruitment/selection process to create a strong onboarding experience for transfer students from Metropolitan Community College (MCC). Track allotted scholarship funds and serve as liaison to Office of Financial Support & Scholarships. Provide oversight for any student staff dedicated to Momentum support. Plan and lead orientation for new students as well as engagement activities and support programming for students. Represent DASH at on-campus or community events.

Percentage Of Time 35 Essential Function: Yes Responsibility Area: Academic Coaching Duties:

Educate, coach, and support the Scholarship Collective and other students served through Durango's Advancement & Support Hub with academic and career related decisions. Monitor student progress toward short-term academic goals and long-range educational plans. Meet regularly with students in individual and group meetings to monitor progress. Provide intentional coaching including development of academic recovery plans for scholars not meeting program standards, as well as students supported through Durango's Advancement & Support Hub who are not meeting university academic standards.

Support DASH office operations including event planning, peer mentor support, strategic planning, office projects.

Assist with the development, gathering, and analysis of assessment data for all programs within Durango's Advancement & Support Hub. Prepare annual reports to share with program stakeholders and campus leaders.

Required and Preferred Qualifications

Required Education

Bachelor's Degree in Education, Sociology, Social Work, Human Services, or related field.

Required Experience

One year of experience working in an educational setting such as teaching and/or student support programs.

Required License/Certification

Required Additional Qualifications:

Commitment to working with all students, as well as other faculty and staff partners across the university campus and community.

Preferred Education

Master's degree in a related field (counseling, psychology, student personnel, social work, education, student affairs, etc.)

Preferred Experience

Experience working with college students in a university environment or pre-college bridge programs. Possess knowledge of current and emerging trends concerning students in transition and college student success; knowledge of learning strategies, academic success skills, motivational techniques, and basic counseling principles; excellent interpersonal communication skills; strong collaboration skills; and the ability to synthesize and take action on complex information.
