 Job Summary: 

ESP is seeking a Program Coordinator for the Programs Team operating out of the North Carolina Piedmont Triad region. The Program Coordinator’s role is to plan, develop, implement, staff, and review all year-round programs that occur in the North Carolina Piedmont Triad region as part of a comprehensive site team. 

The Program Coordinator plays a key role in planning and maintaining the quality of ESP programs and events for all ESP participants. This position requires a passionate individual with a keen eye for safety and the ability to create transformative experiences. A team mindset and multitasking skills are essential. ESP's mission is fulfilled through fun Experiences for people with disabilities, building a Support community for their families, and providing Purpose for adults with disabilities through meaningful employment.

Founded in 1986 in Watkinsville, Georgia, ESP exists to create transformative experiences for people with disabilities and their families and change communities for the better. ESP now operates four locations across the state of Georgia to provide year-round programming, summer camp, and family support to nearly 1,000 families, and we're growing! Top Five Responsibilities: 

  1. Contribute to creating transformative experiences for all year-round programs 
  2. Oversee Programs operations and logistics for all year-round programs, ensuring good participant safety and engagement 
  3. Leadership, Management, and Accountability of any Programs assistants, interns, and/or volunteers
  4. Engagement and communication with ESP families and stakeholders
  5. Quality Control and execution of excellent programs

Detailed Functions and Responsibilities: 

  • Identify, plan and execute all ESP programs under the direction of the Executive Director
  • Oversee the implementation of all monthly Club Events, Java Joy events, Summer Camp, and monthly family events
  • Recruit, Train, and Manage all Program Interns and Joyristas
  • Identify and work the booking process for any and all Java Joy events with Joyful Hospitality, being held accountable to an annual booking revenue goal
  • Collaborate on an annual program calendar, ensuring a diverse portfolio of transformative experiences
  • Regularly audit all programs and ensure the ESP Way and Standard is being met
  • Provide programmatic support and be a line of communication for site leadership
  • Identify target audiences to invite into the mission of ESP for year-round programming
  • Manage, lead, and coach assistants and interns during programs to ensure participants are properly cared for
  • Cultivate and manage relationships with interns, community partners, and volunteers  in our community 
  • Be a strong advocate for keeping the future building and assets in great condition, looking for ways to continually improve 
  • Oversee program budget for designated program area
  • Lead the implementation of a successful intern training program
  • Warmly engage with ESP families and stakeholders
  • Develop charismatic, concise, and influential presentations to impact the community everywhere you go

  • Prioritize safety for our participants, families, Joyristas, interns, assistants and volunteers at year-round programs
  • Actively seek input and collaborate across the organization on how we can be better
  • Meet daily needs and project deadlines with a bent towards excellence
  • Think strategically about how we can innovate new and ongoing programs
  • Exhibit strong time and project management skills, with the ability to balance multiple events
  • Successfully manage multiple projects and competing needs, always prioritizing what is in the best interest of ESP’s mission
  • Exhibit strong written and verbal communicator, with the ability to lead meetings, speak to community audiences, share esp’s mission, and communicate with diverse audiences
  • Engage with community members, build meaningful relationships, and advance the ESP mission with them
  • Work nights and weekends on a flexible schedule 
  • Organization skills, public speaking skills, operational skills, budget management skills, leadership and management, coaching, adaptation of activities, creativity, etc.

Experience/Preferred Requirements: 

  • Preferred history of planning and executing large programs/projects
  • A high quotient for hospitality and customer service
  • Experience serving individuals with developmental disabilities preferred, but not required 
  • Proficiency in Google Suite and comfortable with technology and multiple management platforms

Job Details:

  • Compensation: $50,000
  • FLSA Status: Exempt, Salaried, Full-Time
  • Benefits: Medical, Dental, Vision, Supplemental, 401k matching, generous PTO policy

  • Supervises: Part-time seasonal assistants and interns for 360
