Job Description

Position Summary:As Program Coordinator, responsibilities include providing leadership to the Mental Health Service Professional Demonstration Grant Program, including conducting regional and district needs assessments and deploying the resources of the specialists. The Program Coordinator will be the expert, in collaboration with the LIU faculty and LEAs, on addressing mental health needs, providing support to students, families and schools, and facilitating recruitment into the school psychology field. The Program Coordinator will have a primary role in implementing training, support, and coaching for participating LEAs and supervisors.Key Responsibilities:Respond to directives of Uniondale UFSD and deploy resources accordinglyEnsure all work of the Mental Health Service Professional Demonstration Grant Program is in alignment with grant deliverables and Uniondale UFSD prioritiesOversee the recruitment of prospective School of Psychology candidatesTrain and provide professional development to increase the delivery of early intervention and intensive mental health supports to district personnel using evidence-based strategies within the field of School PsychologyOversee, in conjunction with the P.I., the partnering LEAs in the consortiumParticipate in regional needs assessment and planning in collaboration with Uniondale UFSD and partnering LEAsConduct needs assessments with identified districts to determine specialist deployment and better understand district mental health needsTraining, Skills, Knowledge, Experience:Expertise in evidence-based mental health servicesSpanish speakingExtensive knowledge of research-based interventions, instruction, and learning strategiesExperience providing training, coaching, professional development, and/or technical assistanceStrong presentation skillsStrong interpersonal skills that support interacting with families and school/agency personnelEducation Requirements:Minimum of a Master's degree in School Psychology; Doctorate preferredWorking Conditions:Typical office setting with privacy; requires regular travel to various locations throughout Long Island and occasional evening and weekend hoursMaterials and Equipment:Computer, copier, scanner, wireless access, phone, and faxAbout LIU Post: LIU Post campus is a scenic, historic, and scholarly campus that offers a small-school environment with the access and resources of a major metropolitan university.
