Hourly Rate: $19.66 - $21.67/hour
Location: Multiple Locations
Work Days/Hours: 10 hours per week; Weekdays 9:00 am – 1:00 pm; Nights - 5:00 pm - 9:00 pm; Weekends - 8:00 am - 3:00 pm
Position develops and implements diverse indoor and outdoor recreational athletic programs as well as provides customer service and oversight of all aspects of the rental process at various athletic rental facilities. Incumbent assists in the planning, organization, and supervision of activities and rental groups, opens and closes facilities, monitors facilities for rentals, coordinates preparation for athletic rentals, events, tournaments, and games, enters information into the recreation, lighting and rental software systems, and collaborates with local organizations. Responsibilities include assisting supervisor with the training, assignment, supervision, and evaluation of other part-time recreation staff and volunteers. Work hours may include evenings and weekends.
Duties/Responsibilities
- Manages and leads recreational and instructional programs and activities.
- Coordinates preparation for athletic rentals, events, tournaments, and games.
- Prepares tournament brackets, schedules games, and maintains league standings and statistics.
- Monitors athletic facilities and park amenities and supervises field rental groups.
- Performs safety and security inspections of athletic facilities and park amenities and submits work order request and performs follow up inspections
- Assists with and participates in staff meetings, in-service training programs, orientations, and evaluation sessions.
- Addresses patron questions, concerns, and complaints.
- Completes accident and incident reports for staff and participants.
- Enters participant information, program registrations, and fee payments into Active.Net recreation software system.
- Enters required rental information into the Active.Net recreation software system, the MUSCO and Skylogix lighting software as well as the drag and line maintenance schedule and maintains the Civic Plus rental portal.
- Coordinates partnerships with local schools, non-profit organizations, and private entities.
- Observes necessary precautions to secure the safety of program participants and renders first aid in case of minor injury; observe necessary precautions to secure the safety of rental groups.

Minimum Qualifications & Experience
- High School diploma or equivalent (GED, HiSet, TASC).
- Two (2) years of experience supervising activities in recreation, physical education, or a related field.
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Valid North Carolina Class C Driver's License with a satisfactory driving record.
- Valid Adult and Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED – with Anaphylaxis and Epinephrine Auto Injector Certification or obtain within the first six months of employment.
