General Description
The Program Assistant is a valuable member of our Behavioral Health team in the (ATP) Addiction Treatment Program who is responsible for a variety of Program and Clerical duties, using independent judgment and problem-solving skills. Performs a detailed review of program documentation and tracking of such data. Works as support to clerical and program staff in accordance with prescribed methods and procedures. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, performing at a proficient level and lending "team" support to the Program Coordinator, Program Clinicians, Nursing Staff, and Program Administrative staff. Able to work independently on tasks and projects. Able to work in a fast-paced environment, where a high level of multitasking skills is a must.

Scheduled Hours: 37.5 hours a week
  • Monday - Friday (8am - 4pm)
Essential Functions
  • Enters patient demographic information and updates as changes occur.
  • Participate in the Admission Process of new clients. i.e., sliding fees, consent for treatment, Insurance Financial Agreement, etc.
  • Completes Screening Forms via phone calls/in person.
  • Verifies third-party coverage twice a month for all clients in the program.
  • Explains discounts, nominal fees and payment requirements as needed.
  • Ensures effective, accurate and efficient clerical operations.
  • Monitors and updates Program Data spreadsheets for accuracy.
  • Works with the Health Department Navigators to ensure client insurance coverage.
  • Maintains program records according to policies.
  • Handles client inquiries and assists in making appropriate referrals or appointments to specific Lake County Health Department and Community Health Center (LCHD/CHC) programs or other agencies.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by Program Coordinator/Office Manager.
Knowledge Skills Abilities and Education Required
  • Requires a high school diploma or G.E.D. certificate.
  • Requires 2 years of general office experience, preferably in healthcare
  • Spanish-speaking is a plus.
  • Sufficiently able to use Microsoft products, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.
  • Good knowledge and use of a computer.
