The University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine invites applications and nominations for the position of Chair of the Department of Dental Public Health. This is a full-time faculty leadership appointment in the tenure stream at the associate professor or professor level depending on qualifications. The Chair will lead a vibrant department committed to advancing oral health equity, community-based education, population health research, expanding access to care in rural and underserved communities, and evidence-based practice.
Position Overview
The Chair will provide strategic academic and administrative leadership for the Department of Dental Public Health, fostering excellence in teaching, research, service, and community engagement. The successful candidate will promote an inclusive and collaborative culture, guide faculty and staff development, manage departmental operations and budgets, and support innovation in public health-oriented dental education, research, and clinical programs.
The Department of Dental Public Health houses the General Practice Residency (GPR) program at the University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine.
