Professional Nanny and Family Assistant
Lincoln Park, Chicago
An executive couple in Lincoln Park is seeking an exceptionally experienced, nurturing, and deeply reliable Nanny/Family Assistant to play a central role in the growth of their two young children.
This is a rare opportunity for a career-oriented childcare professional who brings a strong background in early childhood development and a passion for "whole child" education, supporting emotional, intellectual, and social milestones.
Working within a warm, values-driven household, you will partner closely with highly engaged parents and a collaborative domestic team (including a full-time Housekeeper and a co-Nanny) to create a structured, curiosity-filled environment where two young children can thrive.
The Ideal Candidate
- You don't just "watch" children; you engage them. You have a passion for inquiry-based learning and creating developmentally informed activities that foster independence.
- You bring a warm, patient, and naturally positive presence to the home every day. You understand that a "service heart" and a sunny disposition are the foundation of a happy home.
- You find genuine joy in creating orderly systems. Whether it's organizing a playroom or managing household vendors, you see what needs to be done and execute with excellence.
- You are a proactive communicator who thrives on alignment. You can pivot gracefully between focused childcare and family-assistant tasks, always maintaining the highest level of discretion.
Core Responsibilities
- Partner with parents to implement routines, healthy behaviors, and safe, attentive care.
- Design and lead indoor/outdoor activities that spark curiosity and support early childhood milestones.
- Maintain meticulous organization of children's spaces, manage laundry for the children (and sometimes run a load for the parents), and prepare healthy, nutritious meals.
- Support the "rhythm of the home" by running errands, shopping for necessities, managing deliveries, and assisting with travel logistics.
- Transport children safely to school and activities, and travel with the family as needed to provide seamless support across different environments.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of full-time experience in a high-performance family setting or educational environment.
- A strong background in child development or early childhood education is highly preferred.
- A valid driver's license and confidence in city driving.
- Long-term career intent.
- CPR and First Aid certified (or willing to obtain).
