Production Unit Manager

Novoplex is seeking a results-driven Production Unit Manager to oversee assigned department(s). The Production Unit Manager is responsible for leading a large team, ensuring safety and quality standards, and achieving production and cost efficiency goals. This role is ideal for a strong leader with a passion for continuous improvement and a deep understanding of manufacturing operations.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing leadership and direction to assigned departments or production lines to meet daily, weekly, and long-term production goals.
  • Overseeing and managing a workforce of 150+ employees, including both salaried and hourly staff.
  • Planning, scheduling, tracking, and monitoring production and operational costs to ensure unit performance aligns with established objectives.
  • Ensuring compliance with safety protocols, leading safety programs, resolving safety-related issues, and conducting thorough incident investigations.
  • Recruiting, hiring, training, and retaining talent; coaching team members and administering corrective actions when necessary to maintain a productive workforce.
  • Implementing and enforcing best practices and company policies to maintain operational consistency.
  • Compiling and maintaining timely and accurate reports on key production metrics such as efficiency, downtime, scrap, labor, and cost.
  • Communicating effectively with all levels of the organization to provide clear updates and feedback.
  • Leading and supporting Lean Manufacturing initiatives and continuous improvement projects. Driving employee engagement through team building and leadership development activities.

Qualifications include:

  • Bachelor's degree in industrial management, Engineering, Business, or a related field.
  • Strong leadership, decision-making, and team-building skills.

Experience includes:

  • Minimum of 5 years' manufacturing experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or leadership capacity.

Skills include:

  • Proven knowledge of statistical methods, process analysis, and continuous improvement techniques.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills across all levels of the organization.
  • Working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles and tools.
