The Production Technician is responsible for operating and monitoring automated sensor production equipment while ensuring product quality, production efficiency, and accurate manufacturing records. This position performs assembly, testing, calibration, programming, and ERP transaction processing throughout the manufacturing process. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, self-motivated, and capable of working independently with minimal supervision.
· Operate and monitor automated sensor production machines to ensure continuous production and maximum equipment utilization.
· Load materials, monitor machine operation, perform routine changeovers, and identify process abnormalities.
· Perform first-level troubleshooting and escalate equipment issues when necessary.
· Execute production orders and accurately record manufacturing transactions using the company’s ERP system.
· Track production yields, scrap, rework, and downtime; report abnormalities and recommend process improvements.
· Perform electrical and functional testing of sensor modules using automated and manual test equipment.
· Calibrate sensor modules according to documented manufacturing procedures.
· Operate programming stations to load firmware and verify successful programming.
· Verify product quality using established inspection procedures and quality standards.
· Maintain complete production records, calibration data, test results, and traceability documentation.
· Support engineering during new product introduction, process improvements, and production validation activities.
· Maintain a clean, organized, and safe manufacturing work environment following ESD and ISO quality procedures.
· Participate in continuous improvement activities to improve yield, throughput, and manufacturing efficiency.
· High school diploma or equivalent; Associate degree in Electronics Technology or Manufacturing Technology preferred.
· 2+ years of experience in electronics manufacturing or automated production.
· Experience operating automated manufacturing equipment.
· Experience using ERP systems (NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, Epicor, or similar).
· Experience with electronic testing, calibration, or manufacturing equipment.
· Ability to interpret work instructions, procedures, and manufacturing documentation.
· Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office.
· Excellent attention to detail and documentation accuracy.
· Experience with sensor manufacturing or precision electronic assemblies.
· Familiarity with ISO 9001 quality systems.
· Experience with barcode traceability systems.
· Basic understanding of electronics and measurement equipment such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, and power supplies.
· Experience programming embedded devices or firmware loading stations.
