Position Overview
We are seeking a Production Supervisor to lead a high-volume stamping press manufacturing operation in Ripon, WI. This role is responsible for supervising daily production activities, ensuring safety compliance, driving output targets, and supporting a high-performing team in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
The ideal candidate brings experience in metal stamping or heavy manufacturing, strong frontline leadership capability, and a proven track record in Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
Safety Leadership
- Promote and enforce a safety-first culture
- Conduct safety audits, inspections, and incident investigations
- Ensure PPE compliance and adherence to all safety policies
- Identify and correct unsafe conditions or behaviors immediately
Production Supervision (Stamping Operations)
- Oversee daily operations in a high-volume stamping press environment
- Ensure production schedules, quality standards, and delivery goals are met
- Monitor downtime, scrap, and throughput; implement corrective actions
- Optimize staffing, machine utilization, and workflow efficiency
- Support press setup, changeovers, and troubleshooting to maintain production flow
Team Leadership & Development
- Lead, coach, and develop production team members on shift
- Support training and cross-training initiatives
- Manage attendance, performance, and employee relations issues
- Interface with Union Stewards on discipline and contract matters (if applicable)
- Foster a respectful, accountable, and engaged team environment
Continuous Improvement (Lean Manufacturing)
- Lead or support 5S, Kaizen, and Lean initiatives
- Analyze production bottlenecks and implement countermeasures
- Collaborate with maintenance, engineering, and quality teams
- Encourage operator-driven improvement suggestions
Reporting & Communication
- Track and report KPIs (safety, quality, production, efficiency)
- Maintain accurate production and quality documentation
- Communicate shift performance and issues to management and cross-functional teams
Required Qualifications
- 1–3+ years in a high-volume manufacturing environment
- Experience in production supervision or frontline leadership
- Strong background in stamping press or metal forming operations preferred
- Working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing (5S, Kaizen, continuous improvement)
- Proven servant leadership style with team coaching experience
- Experience enforcing safety standards and conducting investigations
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with progressive die or transfer press stamping operations
- Background in automotive, appliance, or heavy industrial manufacturing
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Manufacturing, Engineering, or Operations
- Experience in unionized manufacturing environments
- Familiarity with production scheduling, Kanban, and process control
Physical Requirements
- Standing for extended periods
- Stooping, bending, and repetitive manual tasks
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs without assistance
Compensation & Schedule
- Full-time, direct hire position
- 2nd Shift: Monday–Thursday, 3:00 PM–1:00 AM
- Additional workdays as needed
- $500/month shift differential ($6,000/year) in addition to base salary
