Job Title: Production Supervisor
Location: Salt Lake City, Utah
Shift: 6 AM to 6:30 PM
Schedule: 2-2-3 Shift

Position Overview

Client is seeking a people-focused Shift Supervisor to lead day shift operations in a 24/7 manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for overseeing approximately 16–22 union employees, including production operators and technicians, while driving a strong culture of safety, quality, accountability, and team development.

The ideal candidate is someone who can motivate and challenge employees, hold team members accountable, and provide coaching/support to improve overall team performance and operational effectiveness.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and support 16–22 production employees and technicians
  • Drive a strong safety-first culture and ensure compliance with PPE and plant safety standards
  • Maintain high quality and sanitation standards in a food manufacturing environment
  • Support employee development, training verification, and skills growth
  • Hold employees accountable while maintaining a collaborative leadership style
  • Observe manufacturing processes and identify areas for improvement
  • Lead housekeeping and continuous improvement initiatives using LEAN principles
  • Ensure operational consistency and adherence to standard procedures
  • Partner with union workforce effectively and professionally

Preferred Background

  • 5–10+ years of manufacturing leadership or supervisory experience
  • Experience leading teams in a union environment preferred
  • Dairy or food & beverage manufacturing experience highly preferred
  • Candidates from pharmaceutical or highly regulated manufacturing environments may also be considered
  • GMP/GxP experience strongly preferred
  • Strong people leadership and coaching skills required
  • Experience with LEAN manufacturing methodologies preferred
