Job Summary

The Production Supervisor – Metal Fab/Paint Line is responsible for leading daily operations within the metal fabrication and finishing areas, including welding, forming, and paint processes. This role ensures production goals are met safely, efficiently, and with high quality while supporting employee-owners and reinforcing a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.

Production & Operations

Supervise daily operations of the metal shop and paint line

Ensure production targets, quality standards, and on-time delivery requirements are met

Monitor work orders, material flow, and bottlenecks

Partner with Production Control/Scheduler to prioritize work

Drive productivity improvements and reduce downtime

Leadership & Team Development

Lead, coach, and develop team members

Provide clear expectations and accountability

Conduct performance feedback and coaching

Support training and cross-training (including flex operators)

Foster a positive and team-oriented work environment

Quality & Continuous Improvement

Ensure adherence to quality standards

Identify and address root causes of defects

Support lean manufacturing initiatives

Promote standard work and continuous improvement

Safety & Compliance

Enforce safety policies and procedures

Ensure proper use of PPE

Partner with Safety to address hazards

Maintain OSHA and company compliance

Communication & Coordination

Communicate daily priorities and updates

Collaborate with other departments

Escalate risks through At-Risk Reporting

Maintain accurate production and labor reporting

Qualifications - Required

3–5+ years of manufacturing experience in metal fabrication

Supervisory or lead experience

Experience with welding, forming, or paint line operations

Strong understanding of production flow

Ability to lead teams and drive results

Qualifications - Preferred

Experience with powder coating or industrial paint systems

Knowledge of lean manufacturing

Experience with ERP systems

Bilingual is a plus

   Ability to sit and stand for extended periods.

   Occasional lifting to 50 pounds.

Work Environment

Work is performed in both office and manufacturing settings with exposure to dust, noise, temperature fluctuations, and equipment. Required PPE must be worn on the production floor.

Travel: Infrequent travel to satellite facilities, vendor locations, customer sites, and industry partners may be required.
