    Production Supervisor - Material Handling

    Location: Romulus, MI
    Schedule: 2nd Shift | 4:00 PM - 2:00 AM
    Duration: 1 Year Contract
    Work Arrangement: Fully Onsite

    Position Overview

    We are seeking a Production Supervisor - Material Handling. This role is responsible for leading warehouse and material handling operations, ensuring efficient inbound, outbound, and claims processing activities while driving safety, quality, productivity, and continuous improvement initiatives.

    The Production Supervisor will work closely with the Superintendent and Plant Manager to coordinate daily operations, manage workforce scheduling, and support overall facility performance.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Supervise daily material handling and warehouse operations, including inbound, outbound, and claims processing activities.
    • Lead and support hourly employees to achieve safety, quality, delivery, and productivity objectives.
    • Cover production crews and provide leadership support in the absence of other supervisors.
    • Schedule staffing, overtime, and vacation coverage to meet operational requirements.
    • Facilitate crew meetings and ensure proper documentation and communication of business updates.
    • Prepare, maintain, and audit operational records and reports.
    • Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational performance.
    • Collaborate with leadership to drive best-in-class execution and operational excellence.
    • Promote a positive work environment focused on teamwork, accountability, and employee engagement.

    Required Qualifications

    • High School Diploma or GED.
    • Minimum of 1 year of supervisory or team leadership experience.
    • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
    • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced distribution or manufacturing environment.
    • Proficiency in workforce scheduling, employee coaching, and problem-solving.

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Previous experience in warehouse, distribution, logistics, material handling, or manufacturing operations.
    • Experience leading continuous improvement initiatives.
    • Knowledge of inventory control and distribution center processes.
