The Production Supervisor provides hands-on leadership to production technicians across multiple shifts, ensuring alignment, continuity, and performance across the full production schedule. This individual partners closely with Supply Chain, Quality, and Engineering to maintain continuous production flow. As the first line of leadership, this role is responsible for safety, training, SOP adherence, and fostering a high-performance, accountable team culture.

Key Responsibilities

Production Leadership & Execution

  • Lead and coordinate daily production operations across both day and evening shifts, ensuring consistency and continuity across shifts

  • Directly manage and develop a team of approximately 8–15 production technicians (may vary based on production needs)

  • Assign work orders, monitor throughput, and ensure adherence to production schedules

  • Verify and approve batch records for accuracy and GMP compliance

  • Ensure production lines are properly staged with materials, labels, and documentation

  • Maintain strict adherence to PPE, safety standards, and SOPs

  • Monitor equipment status, coordinate preventive maintenance, and communicate downtime impact

  • Train, mentor, and cross-train production technicians to build team capability and flexibility across shifts

Planning & Coordination

  • Partner with Production Planning, Procurement, and Logistics to align schedules with material availability and demand forecasts

  • Communicate production goals and resource needs to maintain schedule adherence across shifts

  • Monitor raw material usage, report shortages, and support timely replenishment

  • Track work-in-process (WIP) and finished goods output; update ERP and tracking systems as needed

Performance Tracking & Reporting

  • Maintain KPI trackers and dashboards (throughput, downtime, yield/scrap, schedule adherence)

  • Analyze daily and weekly production data and provide insights during production meetings

  • Identify trends, risks, and opportunities to improve production capacity, staffing, and efficiency

Quality, Safety & Continuous Improvement

  • Ensure production meets all quality, regulatory, and safety requirements

  • Partner with Quality and Engineering to address deviations and non-conformances

  • Support root cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions (CAPA)

  • Promote and maintain 5S and Lean manufacturing practices

  • Lead by example in safety, housekeeping, and continuous improvement initiatives

Team Collaboration & Communication

  • Serve as the primary communication link between technicians across both shifts, leadership, and cross-functional teams

  • Ensure clear and consistent communication between shifts through structured handoffs and reporting

  • Provide detailed shift handoff reports including production output, downtime, and quality issues

  • Participate in production meetings and share operational updates

  • Foster a collaborative, respectful, and accountable team environment across the full production team

Required Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in a regulated manufacturing environment (e.g., medical device, aerospace, automotive, or similar)

  • Prior experience leading or supervising production teams in a manufacturing setting

  • Strong understanding of batch records, GMP, and quality control processes

  • Experience with production scheduling, resource coordination, or planning support

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ERP systems (e.g., Odoo or similar)

  • Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or related field

  • Experience in regulated environments such as ISO 13485 / MDSAP

  • Familiarity with statistical process control (SPC) concepts

Working Conditions
