Georgia Pacific is seeking a Production Supervisor for our Blue Rapids, Kansas facility. Production Leaders lead a team to ensure a safe and injury/incident-free environment in our fast-paced plant. What You Will Do

  • Lead and supervise the Calciner, Calciner Helper, Ultra Operator, and Densite Operator teams to achieve safety, quality, and production objectives.
  • Partner with Safety, Environmental, Maintenance, Operations, Quality, and Finance teams to optimize performance and drive continuous improvement.
  • Champion change management initiatives that improve operational efficiency, employee engagement, and business results.
  • Apply PBM principles to foster an empowered, accountable, and high-performing team culture.
  • Develop team members through coaching, mentoring, training, and performance management while promoting ownership and accountability.
  • Drive a culture of safety, quality, and operational excellence through leadership, teamwork, and individual accountability.
  • Oversee employee training, maintain training documentation, and ensure training trackers and qualification check sheets remain current.
  • Address performance and operational challenges using critical thinking, collaboration, and sound economic decision-making to improve safety, efficiency, and reliability.
  • Complete reports, documentation, and administrative responsibilities accurately and within established deadlines.
  • Communicate effectively with plant employees, leadership, and corporate partners to ensure alignment and execution of business objectives.
  • Plan, prioritize, and coordinate daily operations to meet production schedules and customer needs.
  • Troubleshoot equipment, process, and operational issues by leveraging data, cross-functional collaboration, and root cause problem-solving techniques.
  • Promote continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to eliminate waste, improve processes, and enhance team performance.

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

  • A minimum of two (2) years leadership experience in an industrial, manufacturing, or military environment, or four (4) years of experience in the Gypsum industry or an associate degree or higher with one (1) year of experience in manufacturing/industrial environment.
  • Shift schedule is subject to change during employment based on business needs.
  • A minimum of one (1) year of experience using a computer for record-keeping, documentation, and reporting, including experience with Microsoft Word and Excel
