Production Supervisor (2 Positions open)

Night Shift: 7:00pm to 7:00am

Night Shift: 7:00pm to 7:00am (Rotating Schedule)


Scope of Position


Our client is seeking a hands-on, results-oriented Production Supervisor to lead manufacturing operations within a fast-paced packaging and containers manufacturing facility. This position is responsible for driving safety, quality, production efficiency, and employee engagement while ensuring daily manufacturing objectives are achieved.


Reporting to the Production or Operations Manager, the Production Supervisor will oversee hourly production employees, optimize machine performance, manage labor resources, and promote a culture of continuous improvement. The ideal candidate is a strong leader with experience in high-volume manufacturing who thrives in a performance-driven environment.


Responsibilities


Production Leadership

  • Lead and supervise hourly production employees to safely achieve daily production schedules, quality standards, and operational goals.
  • Direct all shift activities to maximize productivity, equipment utilization, and manufacturing efficiency.
  • Monitor production performance and implement corrective actions to minimize downtime and improve throughput.
  • Coordinate staffing assignments to ensure adequate labor coverage and operational effectiveness.
  • Partner with maintenance, engineering, quality, and warehouse teams to resolve production issues and improve overall plant performance.

Safety & Regulatory Compliance

  • Champion a culture of safety by enforcing all company safety policies, GMPs, quality standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct regular safety observations, inspections, and shift meetings to reinforce safe work practices.
  • Investigate workplace incidents and implement corrective and preventive actions.
  • Ensure compliance with all company policies, procedures, and environmental, health, and safety regulations.

Quality Management

  • Monitor production processes to ensure products consistently meet customer specifications and quality requirements.
  • Perform routine quality audits and inspections throughout the manufacturing process.
  • Lead root cause investigations and corrective actions related to production or quality issues.
  • Support continuous quality improvement initiatives that reduce defects and improve customer satisfaction.

Employee Leadership & Development

  • Provide daily leadership, coaching, and performance management for production team members.
  • Train, mentor, and develop employees to improve technical skills, safety awareness, and operational performance.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback to support employee growth.
  • Assist with employee relations, recognition, disciplinary actions, and staffing decisions in accordance with company policies.
  • Foster a positive, accountable, and collaborative team environment.

Operational Excellence

  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on productivity, labor utilization, waste reduction, and cost savings.
  • Monitor machine utilization and recommend process, staffing, or equipment improvements to increase operational efficiency.
  • Execute standard leadership routines, daily production reviews, and shift communication processes.
  • Maintain accurate production documentation, shift reports, labor records, and operational metrics.
  • Participate in inventory management activities and physical inventory counts as required.

Communication & Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Communicate production priorities, shift performance, and operational issues across departments.
  • Participate in production, safety, and continuous improvement meetings.
  • Build strong working relationships with production, maintenance, engineering, quality, warehouse, and leadership teams.
  • Support a professional work environment built on teamwork, accountability, and operational excellence.


Qualifications


  • Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing, Operations Management, Engineering, Business, or a related field preferred; equivalent manufacturing leadership experience will be considered.
  • Minimum of 2 years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably within packaging, plastics, blow molding, injection molding, containers, or high-volume production.
  • Demonstrated experience leading production teams and achieving operational performance goals.
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement, 5S, and operational excellence methodologies is preferred.
  • Experience working in environments focused on safety, quality, productivity, and customer satisfaction.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing KPIs including OEE, labor efficiency, scrap reduction, downtime, and throughput.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and manufacturing reporting systems or ERP software.
