Position Summary

The Production Supervisor is responsible for Production or Packaging Departments, including the supervision and leadership of a team of employees in the manufacturing and packaging of extruded pet food. The Production Supervisor coordinates all first line functions regarding production planning, management of team members, man-hours, quality, safety, and sanitation.

Direct supervision of hourly employees in the Packaging and Further Processing areas

Ensure a safe and clean environment per Pathogen Monitoring Program and Master Sanitation Plan requirements and defect scores.

Manage the production or packaging schedule to maximize output while minimizing costs

Promote a "Zero Defect" quality culture theme in the work environment assuring target compliance.

Work with order planner, warehouse, and other internal teams to meet customer demand.

Coordinate cross functionally with all team leaders and managers in meeting total plant goals.

Communicate clearly and concisely the daily packaging activity to other shift team leaders (i.e. packaging schedule changes, hold product, etc.

Requirements

High School Diploma or GED equivalent

2+ years' experience supervising and leading people in a manufacturing, industrial, technical, military, or related environment.
