Job Title: Operations Supervisor - OC Doors Wood Division, Colfax Rough Mill

Location: Colfax, NC

Reports To: Operations Leader

Department: Colfax Rough Mill

Employment Type: Full-Time

Position Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Operations Supervisor to lead and support our Rough Mill production and warehouse teams. This role is critical in ensuring operational excellence, safety compliance, and efficient production planning. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in team management, inventory control, and cross-functional collaboration with maintenance and logistics.

Key Responsibilities

Team Leadership & Performance Management

  • Supervise daily operations and direct reports across production and warehouse functions.
  • Manage employee attendance, time clock accuracy, and scheduling.
  • Conduct job training, performance assessments, and provide ongoing coaching.
  • Monitor and evaluate daily job performance to ensure productivity and quality standards.

Safety & Culture

  • Champion a Safety-First mindset aligned with our Safer Together culture.
  • Lead daily safety walks and facilitate weekly Stop for Safety talks.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and proactively address hazards.

Production Planning & Execution

Plan and coordinate production lines handling multiple SKUs and customer requirements. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet production targets and timelines. Adjust plans dynamically based on demand changes, material availability, and staffing.

Inventory & Warehouse Management

Oversee inventory control processes and ensure accurate stock levels. Utilize and understand MRP systems for material planning and replenishment. Manage warehouse operations including receiving, storage, and material flow. Work with material vendors on forecasting, purchase volume releases, and quality.

Maintenance Collaboration

Work closely with plant maintenance staff to support Preventive Maintenance programs. Ensure equipment reliability and minimize downtime through proactive planning. Participate in maintenance reviews and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in operations supervision within a manufacturing or warehouse environment.
  • Strong leadership skills with a track record of managing teams and improving performance.
  • Familiarity with MRP systems and inventory management principles.
  • Experience in production planning with diverse SKUs and customer specifications.
  • Commitment to safety and experience leading safety initiatives.
  • Knowledge of warehouse and receiving processes.
  • Collaborative mindset with experience working alongside maintenance teams.

Preferred Skills

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ERP/MRP software.
  • Lean manufacturing or Six Sigma experience is a plus.
