Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Production Supervisor to lead daily manufacturing operations in a fast-paced production environment. This role is responsible for supervising production employees, ensuring safety and quality standards are met, driving continuous improvement initiatives, and achieving production schedules while maintaining high levels of efficiency and customer satisfaction.

The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with strong manufacturing experience, excellent communication skills, and a passion for developing teams and improving processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise, coach, and train production employees on safety, quality, and standard work procedures.
  • Plan and coordinate daily production activities to meet customer schedules and on-time delivery goals.
  • Maintain a safe work environment by enforcing all health, safety, and environmental policies.
  • Promote and sustain 5S workplace organization and Lean Manufacturing initiatives.
  • Monitor production performance, quality, productivity, inventory levels, and turnaround times.
  • Review production schedules and assign labor to meet operational requirements.
  • Interpret blueprints, work instructions, specifications, and production orders.
  • Verify product quality and ensure compliance with established manufacturing and quality standards.
  • Troubleshoot production issues and implement corrective actions to improve efficiency.
  • Lead continuous improvement, Lean, Kaizen, and productivity improvement events.
  • Identify opportunities to reduce waste, improve processes, and lower operating costs.
  • Coordinate with Production Control, Quality, Engineering, Maintenance, and other departments to support production goals.
  • Maintain accurate production records, labor reporting, and employee timekeeping.
  • Manage staffing needs, including interviewing, onboarding, and coordinating temporary labor when necessary.
  • Conduct employee performance evaluations, coaching, disciplinary actions, and performance improvement plans.
  • Foster a positive team environment through effective communication, recognition, and employee development.
  • Assist with material planning, inventory management, and production requisitions.
  • Support additional operational needs as required.

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing, Industrial Technology, or a related field; equivalent experience will also be considered.
  • Minimum 5 years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong understanding of production processes, scheduling, quality systems, and manufacturing operations.
  • Experience leading teams in a high-volume production setting.
  • Ability to read blueprints, technical drawings, and manufacturing specifications.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and manufacturing systems (ERP/MRP experience preferred).
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to perform basic to intermediate mathematical calculations.

Preferred

  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, Six Sigma, or Continuous Improvement methodologies.
  • Experience managing employee performance, coaching, and workforce development.
  • Knowledge of inventory management and production planning.
