Position Summary:
The Production Supervisor is responsible for the safe, correct, and efficient production of products that meet or exceed customer expectations.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Direct employees daily to meet product schedules and achieve 100% on-time delivery.
- Ensure employees have a clean and safe working environment.
- Maintain adherence to company policies, procedures, and handbook.
- Drive efforts to maximize shop efficiencies and product quality.
- Complete environmental, health, and safety documentation as required.
- Support job training and certification processes.
- Ensure facility and equipment are properly maintained.
- Lead the production team with a positive approach to employee engagement.
- Act as a "Change Agent" to promote continuous improvement.
- Ensure growth and technology objectives for assigned manufacturing areas are met.
- Manage daily team activities, including time clock management, policy enforcement, training, and metrics achievement.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Role Qualifications:
Education and Experience:
- AS/BS Degree in management or a technical field preferred (or equivalent experience).
- 3–5 years of manufacturing experience required.
- 3–5 years of positive leadership and employee engagement experience preferred.
- Experience with 5S and Continuous Improvement desired.
- Familiarity with health and safety regulations.
- Exposure to ISO/QS9000/IATF 16949 manufacturing environments.
- Proficiency with MS Office and Industrial ERP systems (e.g., QAD, Syteline) preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to drive actions to effective completion.
Skills:
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Demonstrated knowledge and exposure to automated production equipment preferred.
- Experience with restraint systems and industrial sewing is a plus.
- Strong interpersonal skills, collaborative work style, and commitment to achieving goals.
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
Physical Demands:
- Occasionally required to stand, walk, sit, use hands, climb stairs, stoop, kneel, crouch, talk, or hear.
- Must occasionally lift/move up to 30 lbs.
Work Environment:
- Exposed to prevailing weather conditions and a moderate-noise-level factory floor in the same building as the office.
