**Position Overview

**

Kintara is supporting a leading precision manufacturer that designs and produces highly engineered components for aerospace, defense, medical, automation, and advanced industrial applications. We are seeking an experienced Production Planner / Expeditor who thrives in a fast-paced, high-mix manufacturing environment and can effectively manage priorities, coordinate production activities, and ensure customer commitments are met.

This is a critical operations role responsible for bridging the gap between production planning and execution. The ideal person combines strong ERP proficiency, manufacturing planning expertise, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to problem-solving. They take ownership of schedules, identify potential bottlenecks before they become issues, and serve as a key communication link between planning, production, purchasing, engineering, and customer support teams.

**Responsibilities

**

• Release and manage production jobs through the ERP system to maintain 6-8+ weeks of available work on the manufacturing floor

• Monitor and manage open sales order backlog, ensuring accurate job status and operation tracking within ERP.

• Make daily planning decisions including job prioritization, sequencing, quantity adjustments, and workload balancing

• Coordinate production priorities with the Master Planner and Production Supervisors to support customer delivery commitments

• Track work-in-process (WIP) activity and proactively identify jobs at risk of missing schedule requirements

• Expedite critical jobs through production operations to minimize delays and protect customer commitments

• Communicate schedule risks, production delays, and job status updates to operations leadership and cross-functional teams

• Maintain accurate and up-to-date ERP data to ensure visibility and schedule integrity

• Utilize Excel and other reporting tools to track production performance, backlog, and scheduling priorities

• Collaborate with Purchasing regarding material shortages, supplier delays, and inventory concerns impacting production schedules

• Coordinate with Engineering and Quality teams regarding job holds, deviations, and process-related issues affecting production flow

• Support Customer Support teams by providing accurate job status updates and realistic shipment expectations

• Identify recurring planning challenges and recommend process improvements to improve schedule performance and operational efficiency

• Participate in daily production meetings and provide concise, accurate production status updates

**Qualifications

**

• 3+ years of production planning, scheduling, expediting, or production control experience within a manufacturing environment

• Hands-on ERP experience managing production , work orders, MRP, job releases, and WIP tracking (Epicor experience preferred)

• Experience working within a high-mix, low-to-medium volume manufacturing environment required.

Candidates who prefer highly repetitive scheduling with predictable lead times and fixed production routes may find this environment challenging.

• Experience supporting precision machining, job shop, aerospace, medical device, defense, or industrial manufacturing operations strongly preferred

• Strong understanding of production workflows, manufacturing scheduling, and material planning processes

• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple competing priorities and large volumes of open jobs simultaneously

• Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel including tracking tools, reporting, and production data analysis

• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail with the ability to maintain data accuracy across multiple systems

• Ability to proactively identify risks, escalate issues appropriately, and drive resolution across departments

• Strong communication skills with the ability to effectively interact with production personnel, supervisors, engineering, purchasing, and leadership teams

• Self-motivated and capable of working independently while maintaining a high sense of urgency and accountability

**Why Join?

**

This opportunity offers the chance to play a critical role within a growing precision manufacturing organization serving aerospace, defense, medical, and advanced industrial markets. You'll work closely with operations leadership and cross-functional teams to drive schedule performance, improve manufacturing efficiency, and ensure customers receive high-quality products on time.
