Production Planner

Specialty manufacturing company in West Midtown Atlanta is looking for a Production Planner. Great opportunity with a growing company!

What You'll Do

In this role, you'll manage end-to-end materials and procurement activities to keep production running on schedule, from purchase orders to inventory control to customer delivery coordination.

• Support kitting activities and material readiness for production
• Perform physical inventory processes and develop cycle count initiatives
• Label materials in accordance with quality and traceability standards
• Execute SAP transactions including reservations and goods issue postings
• Maintain backorder reports and other material tracking systems
• Create production travelers and compile drawing/documentation packages for manufacturing
• Support scheduling and planning activities for lab operations
• Participate in daily production meetings, planning sessions, and forecast reviews
• Create and manage Purchase Requisitions,and Purchase Orders within SAP
• Maintain PO documentation within the electronic document management system
• Coordinate with suppliers to confirm delivery commitments and expedite materials as needed
• Coordinate shipping readiness and documentation to ensure on-time delivery
• Communicate with customers regarding material availability and delivery schedules
• Prepare commercial invoices and packing lists per customer requirements

What We're Looking For

• 2+ years of experience in procurement, materials management, or production planning
• Experience in a low-volume, high-mix, or customized manufacturing environment
• Proficiency in SAP required
• Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask across departments and priorities
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, with advanced Excel skills
• APICS CPIM or CSCP certification a plus
• Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles
