The Machine Operator is responsible for operating automated and semi-automated equipment used to apply termination materials (such as conductive metals) to ceramic capacitors. This role ensures proper electrical connectivity, coating consistency, and adherence to strict quality and production standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up, operate, and monitor termination machines used to apply metal terminations to ceramic components
- Load and unload parts into fixtures, trays, or conveyors for processing
- Prepare and handle termination materials such as silver, nickel, or tin pastes/solutions
- Monitor machine parameters including alignment, temperature, pressure, and cycle times
- Inspect components for proper coverage, alignment, and defects (e.g., smearing, voids, uneven coating)
- Perform routine quality checks using microscopes or measuring tools
- Adjust machine settings to maintain product specifications and yield targets
- Conduct basic troubleshooting and minor equipment maintenance
- Maintain accurate production logs and documentation
- Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs), work instructions, and safety protocols
- Ensure proper handling and disposal of materials per environmental and safety regulations
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Prior experience in manufacturing or machine operation preferred
- Experience in electronics, ceramics, or capacitor production is a plus
- Familiarity with automated equipment and basic mechanical systems
