Job Description

A SHIFT: SUN - TUE 5:00 AM - 5:00 PM WED 5:00 AM - 11:00 AM

PURPOSE AND SCOPE:

Leads Automated Line Technicians supports the installation and operation of automated production and/or assembly lines. Interact with production supervisors, engineering, quality, maintenance and other functions of the business to keep equipment operational and accomplish production objectives. Partner with production supervisors in efforts to trouble shoot assigned production lines. Work as a collaborative team member to operate the equipment and establish test methods. Create, execute, and maintain SOPs for the line. Execute tasks as an individual contributor and a subject matter expert, occasionally interacting with external partners and vendors. Directs and participates in the repair of systems and equipment.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Under the guidance of the production supervisor, leads the operation of assigned production lines and/or segments of the production line, assigning tasks and maintaining schedules for on-shift technicians.
• Directs the operator level maintenance, including scheduling of preventative maintenance, to keep equipment operating efficiently within validated/commissions states and all current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMPs).
• Leads efforts to maintain excellent housekeeping and orderliness in assigned production areas.
• Ensures that work is completed safely, coaches on-shift technicians and identifies/implements safety improvements.
• Maintains proper levels of supplies/parts inventory and requests parts needed to keep production at optimum levels.
• Ensures forms and quality records are filled out completely and properly, both individually and within the assigned team(s).
• Assists in continuous improvement efforts throughout the production systems.
• Reviews and complies with all applicable company policies and procedures. Ensures all employees within the assigned team(s) understand and comply with all applicable company policies and procedures.
• Under the guidance of the production supervisor, provides coaching, and guidance of the assigned team(s).
• Communicate strengths and weaknesses for the assigned team(s) and assists production supervisor with action plans for assigned team.
• Assist with various projects as assigned.
• Other duties as assigned.

SUPERVISION:

EDUCATION:

• High School Diploma required; Associates degree strongly preferred.
• Industrial automation technician program and/or mechatronics certification from trade school, military or two-year Associates degree in a mechanical, electrical, or industrial maintenance, robotics, or mechatronics highly desirable.
• Siemans Mechatronics System Certification highly desirable.
• College enrolled students with 30 credits or less are eligible
• High school GPA 2.5 ("B") or above (4.0 scale)
• High school Algebra and Geometry or 2 units equivalent of academic math (GPA 2.5 or above in each case)
• High school English (GPA 2.5 or above)

EXPERIENCE AND REQUIRED SKILLS:

• Minimum six (6) + years related experience.
• Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
• Strong organization and analytical skills.
• 4-6 years' experience in troubleshooting electromechanical, and/or mechanical equipment, and PLCs
• Basic understanding of HMI usage
• Ability to read and interpret both electrical schematics and mechanical drawings
• Ability to operate test equipment, i.e. multimeter
• Required to perform testing, basic rework, and calibrations on components
• Practical knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics and robotics.
• Ability to keep and maintain complete and accurate records
• Solid grasp of problem solving and troubleshooting
• Intermediate electrical, mechanical, and software aptitude
• Ability to perform thorough Preventive Maintenance checks on automated production equipment
