Production Operator
Location: Ames, IA
Pay Rate: $19.50/hour
Duration: 3–6 Month Assignment (Tryout)
Potential for Hire: Yes – Opportunity to move into an FTE role for the right candidate
Work Setting: Onsite – Production Floor (Physical Labor)

Position Overview
We are seeking a dependable and safety-focused Production Operator to support manufacturing operations at our Ames, IA facility. This role performs production activities related to the manufacturing of custom vitamin premixes, including weighing raw materials, operating production equipment, blending, packaging, quality checks, and maintaining a clean and safe work environment.
The ideal candidate will have strong attendance, mechanical aptitude, forklift experience, and the ability to work in a fast-paced production environment.
Job Responsibilities
- Perform production activities while following safety procedures, SOPs, and quality standards.
- Handle, transport, and weigh raw materials according to batch formulas.
- Add materials into mixers and operate blending/packaging equipment.
- Monitor production equipment and process parameters.
- Complete batch documentation and maintain accurate production records.
- Inspect raw materials and finished products for quality compliance.
- Collect and prepare samples for testing and quality review.
- Complete final packaging, labeling, and palletizing of finished goods.
- Operate forklifts and move materials throughout the facility.
- Perform minor equipment maintenance and troubleshoot production issues.
- Maintain housekeeping standards including 5S, GMP, and safety requirements.
- Communicate production updates, issues, and concerns with team members and supervisors.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Minimum 6 months of related production experience preferred.
- Must be able to operate a forklift.
- Strong attendance and reliability required.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Ability to operate computers and complete production documentation.
- Ability to work in a physical, fast-paced manufacturing environment.
