Production & New Product Introduction Planner

Description -

Job Description-

The Planner will be responsible for managing product forecasts, line scheduling, capacity allocation, material availability, order fulfillment, inventory, product costing, and overall program delivery/metrics. This role will initially support final assembly manufacturing yet will have back-up accountabilities for supporting peers in manufacturing areas across the site. The role includes working closely with R&D and NPI Engineers as well as WW counterparts to ensure final assembly demand and program deliverables are met and capacity is optimized. The systems view of the delivery value chain and collaboration with Industrial Engineer for capability modeling will be instrumental to successfully building robust plans. All volume plans, capabilities, and status updates will be reported to multiple levels of management.

Responsibilities

Publish Build Plans:

  • Partner with Industrial Engineer on production capability and constraints.

  • Collect monthly production and R&D demand forecasts, publish build plan, manage factory capacity and inventory

  • Partner with Program Managers and Forecasters to manage long term forecasting and adjust with program schedules and deliverables

  • Maintain real-time inventory status and delta to inventory goals

Order Management:

  • Manage production shipments to the distribution centers.

  • Ensure receipt of materials, shipping irregularities, and arrival date tracking.

  • Work with downstream planners to ensure final assembly demand can be met.

Operations Support:

  • Partner with operations on build times and scheduling.

  • Lead bi-weekly planning meetings to coordinate factory plans.

  • Partner with engineering on allocation decisions.

  • Assist in staffing/shift modeling for thruput and line utilization constraints.

  • Support transitions from R&D to Production (S4 setup, product costing, etc).

Reporting & Finances:

  • Report on WOS (on-hand demand and delta to plan).

  • Report on changes completed & upcoming (e.g. component adds & deletes).

  • Report on financial scrap and be aware of cost levers for product cost.

Education and Experience Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Management, Supply Chain and Logistics, Industrial Engineering, or similar field.  Master’s degree a plus.

  • 2-3 years of experience in planning and scheduling or related experience.

  • Experience using SAP for production control, shipping, inventory transactions, and related manufacturing functions.

  • Experience with complex planning and forecasting.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office software (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)

  • Experience using software packages to create, manage, and track projects.

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Excellent time management and organizational skills; ability to prioritize and multi-task in a complex business environment.

  • Demonstrated business acumen and successful experience managing all aspects of programs, including communicating with stakeholders and directing matrixed teams and resources.

  • Knowledge of inventory & constraint management theories.

  • Detail oriented with ability to think big picture.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; mastery in English and local language.

  • Ability to effectively communicate program plans, proposals, and results, and negotiate options at senior management levels.

The pay range for this role is $73,800 to $105,000 USD annually with additional opportunities for pay in the form of bonus and/or equity (applies to United States of America candidates only). Pay varies by work location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
