GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF RESPONSIBILITIES

The Service Production Manager plays an essential role in the success and profitability of the Service Department.  As Service Production Manager, you will be responsible for assisting the Service Manager and Service Advisors by assigning work to technicians and overseeing the work is done effectively and efficiently to increase production.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/TYPICAL DUTIES (Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.)

  • Reviews daily schedule and shop capacity.
  • Dispatches service/repair orders to technician with the correct skill level for the service involved, keeping customer satisfaction in mind and while developing technicians’ skills.
  • Communicate with Service Advisors on the progression of diagnosis, repairs, and the ability to meet customers’ time requirements.
  • Manage technician productivity, identifying service and/or repairs that require immediate attention and adjusting priorities when appropriate.
  • Ensure that required equipment, tools and/or materials are in appropriate locations so technicians’ work can be done effectively.
  • Maintains a safe working environment by monitoring the work of technicians and ensuring safety procedures and practices are followed.
  • Enters all carryovers into DMS Schedule.
  • Conduct Road Tests and quality checks of work performed and notify Service Manager when vehicles are ready for pickup.
  • Assists Service Advisors and technicians with all required factory documentation.
  • Leads by example and follows all policies and procedures and completes required training.
  • Inspires and maintains a customer-focused, team-oriented environment.

WORK ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL DEMANDS

This position operates in a non-traditional office environment including the Shop and the Service Drive.  This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and fax machines.  The employee is regularly required to talk and hear.  The employee regularly is required to sit and/or stand at a desk and is also active and required to walk and move about the shop, use hands and fingers to handle and feel, reach with hands and arms, and carry and/or lift up to 50lbs.

 

POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK

This is a full-time position working 40-50 hours per week including Saturdays as needed.
