About Evie’s Snacks

Evie’s is a fast-growing, better-for-you snack brand sourcing from our family-owned, regenerative pecan farms in South Texas. We’re reintroducing pecans to the modern consumer in a downright delectable way – with nostalgic flavors, premium sourcing, and a perfect crunch that keeps people coming back.

As Evie’s continues to scale nationally, we’re opening our first dedicated manufacturing and distribution facility in the Houston, Texas area. We’re looking for an experienced Production Manager to help shape the plant’s culture and set the foundation for long-term success. You will be responsible for optimizing our manufacturing processes from raw material to finished product. Your leadership will ensure efficient, safe, and high-quality production while aligning with the startup’s growth goals and quality standards.

About the Role

The Production Manager will be responsible for helping stand up and run Evie’s first dedicated manufacturing production line. This person reports to the Director of Operations and will work closely with the founders, management team, process engineers, and external partners during the build-out and pre-launch phase, then take ownership of our snack production line.

This role is ideal for someone who combines strong leadership, technical acumen along with a hands-on, entrepreneurial mindset. You should be equally comfortable building food safety-conscious systems and SOPs, hiring and developing production team members, and creating a culture of accountability on the floor.

Responsibilities

Facility Build-Out & Startup

  • Partner with founders and external partners during the build-out phase to support facility readiness and launch planning.

  • Translate startup plans into practical, scalable operating systems for day-one readiness.

  • Build SOPs, training materials, startup routines, production processes, cleaning procedures, and line startup protocols.

  • Develop job instructions for each operator role on the production line.

Leadership & Team Building

  • Act as the on-site Production Manager, establishing a professional environment defined by operational discipline, personal ownership, and high performance.

  • Oversee the production team by managing schedules, coordinating training, and conducting regular performance evaluations and feedback sessions.

  • Hire, train, schedule, coach, and hold accountable hourly production operators and line leads as the team scales.

  • Cultivate a robust culture of safety and food quality that prioritizes collaborative teamwork, reliability, and ongoing process enhancement.

  • Collaborate across departments—including Quality, Procurement, and Maintenance—to maintain seamless and efficient facility operations.

  • Partner with peers to develop a robust cross training plan that enables flexibility and growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own daily and weekly production schedule execution, including labor allocation, line readiness, throughput, scrap/yield loss, waste, and downtime escalation.

  • Partner with QA to ensure the product is manufactured within approved specifications and food safety requirements.

  • Partner with Maintenance to reduce downtime and improve line reliability.

  • Build and implement standard work, operator training systems, shift handoff routines, and production reporting systems from day one.

  • Monitor key performance indicators, identify bottlenecks, and implement continuous improvement initiatives.

Operational Support

  • Partner with Quality Manager to troubleshoot quality issues and implement corrective actions quickly and effectively.

  • Ensure production operations consistently comply with SQF, HACCP, GMP, allergen control, sanitation, and traceability requirements in partnership with Quality.

  • Continuous Improvement — Implement Lean manufacturing practices including 5S, waste reduction, standard work, and continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Partner with business partners to conduct new item tests and product launches.

Qualifications

  • Travel occasionally, up to approximately 10%, as needed.

  • Willingness to support off-shift, weekend, or urgent operational needs during startup and as business needs require.

  • 5+ years in food manufacturing, preferably nuts, snacks, or roasting operations.

  • Strong understanding of GMPs, HACCP, allergen control, and food‑safety regulations.

  • Ability to troubleshoot equipment and optimize line performance.

  • Comfortable building processes, documentation, and training programs from scratch.

  • Strong communication, organization, and problem‑solving skills.

  • Ability to work in a high heat manufacturing environment, including standing/walking on the production floor, using PPE, entering production and warehouse areas, and occasionally lifting up to 25–50 lbs depending on role requirements.

Preferred Experience

  • Experience in snack foods, nuts, roasting, coffee, bakery, or adjacent food manufacturing environments.

  • Experience in both larger CPG environments and entrepreneurial or high-growth manufacturing businesses.

Compensation & Perks

  • Salary range: $90k–$120k depending on experience, plus performance-based bonus.

  • Comprehensive benefits package, including vision/dental/medical, paid time off & employer-sponsored 401k plan.

  • Opportunity to build and lead the production department in Evie’s first owned manufacturing and distribution facility.

  • Clear path to grow into broader operations leadership as the business expands.
