Position Summary
The Production Manager oversees all shop production activities to ensure monthly production goals, cost targets, quality standards, and safety requirements are consistently achieved. This role leads planning, scheduling, purchasing, shop operations, safety compliance, and shipping/receiving functions.
Key Responsibilities
-Develop and manage monthly and weekly production schedules to meet revenue and cost goals
-Optimize labor and material usage to achieve target cost of goods percentages
-Lead daily production meetings and weekly planning sessions
-Coordinate with Project Managers on drawings, timelines, and buildability
-Manage purchase orders, inventory levels, vendor communication, and material tracking
-Oversee shop floor operations, workforce scheduling, and team accountability
-Monitor employee attendance, timekeeping, and policy compliance
-Ensure quality documentation and production tracking are completed daily
-Maintain clean, organized, and efficient production areas
-Oversee shipping, receiving, and safe product deliveries
-Lead health & safety programs including OSHA compliance, training, and incident investigations
-Manage tool inventory, repairs, replacements, and monthly audits
Requirements
-5+ years of production management experience in manufacturing, construction materials, or precast concrete
-Strong production planning and scheduling experience
-Experience managing budgets, cost controls, and purchasing
-Knowledge of OSHA regulations and workplace safety compliance
-Proven leadership experience supervising shop or production teams
-Strong organizational and communication skills
-Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously
Preferred Experience
-Production Management: 4 years (Preferred)
-Shop/Architectural Drawings: 2 years (Preferred)
-Production Planning: 2 years (Preferred)
-Precast Concrete: 2 years (Preferred)
-Experience in architectural precast manufacturing
-Familiarity with production scheduling software or ERP systems
-Experience leading safety programs and conducting job hazard analyses
-Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus
