Production Manager - CNC Swiss Machining

Position Title: CNC Production Manager

Position Summary:

This is a hands on position assisting personnel with set-ups and troubleshooting on the CNC Swiss and multi spindle lathe turning centers. The position requires high level programming skills along with set-up and processing knowledge for Nakamura, Okuma, Citizen and Tsugami CNC Lathes.

The incumbent will drive positive change in the business to support our growth plans. Continued training and development of our talent and leading continuous improvement processes throughout the facility is essential.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Lead CNC production equipment including support as required in engineering, programming, set-up, machine adjustments, and quality control. Ensure that spindle up-time is at maximum capacity.
• Direct responsibility for programs/edits, assisting in setting-up projects, along with editing and troubleshooting if necessary.
• Planning of work schedules, machines, assignments, and operation sequences to meet production requirements, including the allocation of equipment.
• Assure capacity levels are maintained to match demand in both short- and long-term requirements.
• Build on a high performing customer-focused team developing existing employee's skills and support in recruiting new team members.
• Enforce safety and all compliance regulations.
• Assure that equipment is adequately maintained and safely operated.

• Required Experience:
• In depth knowledge of CNC turning centers.
• Prior direct experience in setup, programming, operation and troubleshooting of CNC Swiss machines & CNC Lathes.
• Knowledge of Excel/Word/Outlook/PC Office Systems.
• Ability to read and understand component drawings in multiple industry standards.
• Ability and the appreciation of the need to work in an environment with constantly changing priorities.
• Perform and manage multiple tasks concurrently.
• Strong understanding of company quality standards and requirements.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills to interact effectively with department staff, other business managers, suppliers and customers.
