Overview:

We are seeking a driven, hands-on Production Lead to guide our Press Department during the second shift. In this role, you will act as the key leader for your department, taking ownership of shift production goals, training, and the ultimate standard of quality control.

This is an ideal opportunity for someone who has successfully risen through the ranks in a production environment and is ready to take on department leadership. You won't be expected to have experience with our specific equipment on day one; however, you must possess excellent leadership and communication skills from the start.

This is a great, stable company offering the opportunity to learn entirely new production processes, grow as a leader, and help drive a successful business unit dedicated to building critical, high-precision parts.

Compensation

  • Total Pay Range: $27 - $29 / hr

Shift

  • 2nd: 3:00pm - 11:30am

Benefits

  • Health, dental, and vision insurance
  • 401(k) retirement savings plan
  • Paid time off, holidays, and personal leave

Responsibilities:

  • Department Leadership & Production Goals: Manage daily production targets for the Press Department. Ensure the shift runs smoothly, efficiently, and meets all output requirements.
  • Hands-On Production Support: Act as a "working lead." When production falls behind or staffing is light, seamlessly transition into operating machinery and helping the team get the work done.
  • Quality Control & SOP Generation: Set the ultimate standard for quality on your shift. Perform precise in-process inspections, build and refine Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and hold the team accountable to strict blueprint specifications.
  • Training & Mentorship: Act as the eventual Subject Matter Expert (SME) for the department. Train new and existing operators on machine setups, quality audits, and safety protocols.
  • Machine Setup & Operation: Oversee and assist with configuring multi-machine cells, entering recipes and parameters, and performing complete machine changeovers for new part runs.
  • Basic Maintenance & Documentation: Ensure equipment tooling is maintained and deep-cleaned during changeovers. Oversee accurate documentation, scrap separation, and ERP data entry for the shift.
  • Safety Promotor: Maintain strict adherence to all safety procedures and ensure your team does the same. Communicate clearly with management and other shift leads to report any quality or mechanical issues.

Requirements

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Work Authorization: Due to defense contractor regulations, candidates must be a US Citizen or Permanent Resident.
  • Manufacturing Background: 3+ years of progressive manufacturing/production experience. You should be someone who has "risen through the ranks" and understands the realities of the shop floor.
  • Leadership Skills: Excellent communication and leadership abilities from day one. Must be capable of directing a team, managing conflict, and driving goals.
  • Mindset: Highly coachable with a strong attention to detail. Must have the aptitude and drive to become the department's Subject Matter Expert (SME) on our specific equipment.
  • Education: High School Diploma or GED.

Preferred:

  • Machine Operation: Prior hands-on experience setting up and operating specialized machinery (e.g., packaging, printing presses, CNC, or punch presses).
  • Prior Leadership: Previous experience as a team lead, trainer, or line coordinator.

Benefits

  • Health, dental, and vision insurance
  • 401(k) retirement savings plan
  • Paid time off, holidays, and personal leave
