What your day looks like

Step up to a fully prepared workstation and bring pre‑cut or pre‑fabricated parts together into reliable assemblies. You’ll weld standardized runs and custom one‑offs where fit‑ups are generous or held tight by fixtures, turning prints and sketches into finished weldments.

How you’ll contribute

  • Run electric‑arc welding operations (MIG and TIG) across repetitive production and custom builds.
  • Translate samples, blueprints, sketches, and work instructions into precise setups and welds.
  • Help design and build weld fixtures that speed repeatability and accuracy.
  • Verify workmanship to documented procedures; meet all quality system requirements with work subject to secondary approval.
  • Dial in machines to conditions on the floor—selecting heats, wire, electrodes—and adjust as needed to hit throughput and quality targets.
  • Pitch in with teammates as directed by Lead or Supervision on shared projects.
  • Troubleshoot equipment issues and assist with basic problem solving.
  • Model safe habits, maintain a hazard‑free area, and follow company safety standards.
  • Consistently achieve routed rates or other specified productivity goals.
  • Capture accurate paperwork and document your work each day.
  • Keep your station clean and organized; reset between jobs and at day’s end.
  • Take on other duties as assigned.

What you bring

  • High school diploma or GED; or 1–3 years in manufacturing; or an equivalent mix of education and experience as determined by the Shop Supervisor or Operations Manager.
  • Solid math and clear communication skills.
  • Ability to read drawings and production process documentation accurately.
  • Confident using a tape measure with precision.
  • Personal welding helmet required.

Work environment and physical demands

  • Regularly standing, walking, sitting, and using hands to handle tools and materials.
  • Occasional bending, twisting, reaching, and lifting up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to hear and communicate verbally; visual acuity including close and color vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment.
  • Occasional exposure to moving mechanical parts and fumes/airborne particles; typical noise level is moderate.
  • Must be able to wear a welder’s shield and respirator as needed.

Primary processes and equipment

  • MIG Welder
  • TIG Welder
