Position Overview

Join us in the summer of 2026 and help us continue the legacy of fostering creativity, nurturing talent, and celebrating the individual artistic journey at Interlochen. We are seeking team-oriented and resourceful Presentation Assistants who embody our core values and are committed to nurturing young artists. As a Presentations Assistant, youll support the day-of-show news for professional touring groups for the Interlochen Arts Festival. The Presentation Assistant plays a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of each show day by assisting with local errands, hospitality, transportation, and other logistical needs for the artists and crew. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, on-the-go environment and enjoys working behind the scenes in live entertainment.

What You Get To Do

  • ARTIST SUPPORT
    • Act as a runner for touring artists, completing errands such as picking up supplies, meals, and equipment.
    • Coordinate transportation to/from venue, hotels, airports, and other local destinations
  • HOSPITALITY
    • Purchase food, beverages, and supplies according to artist riders
    • Prepare and stock dressing rooms and maintain hospitality inventory
    • Coordinate and track deliveries
  • VENUE EXPERIENCE AND OPERATIONAL SUPPORT
    • Assist with Beer & Wine Patio operation (Stocking, inventory, setup/tear down, event support
    • Communicate with internal and external partners, including catering, EVS, maintenance, hotels, and local vendors, to fulfill last-minute or urgent needs
  • PROFESSIONAL CONDUCT AND ADMINISTRATION
    • Maintain Discretion and professionalism when interacting with artists and VIP guests
    • Track and submit receipts accurately for both Interlochen and the artists
    • Perform additional duties as an assistant to support the production team and touring artists

    • Residential Interns (those living more than 40 miles from campus):$2,041 stipend, including meals and on-campus lodging
    • Local Interns (those living within 40 miles of campus):compensated at an hourly rate in lieu of on-campus housing and meals

  • 10% tuition discount for Discovery Camp or 50% Interlochen Arts Camp for dependents
  • 20% discount for tickets to most summer concerts.

What You Need

  • Prepared to live in a residence hall with a roommate.While we offer accessible housing accommodations, please note that due to the rustic nature of our camp, these options are limited.
  • A valid drivers license is a must.
  • Must be able to handle a rigorous work schedule, including nights and weekends
  • Needs to be efficient at multitasking and possess a collaborative and creative spirit
  • Have strong problem-solving skills, the ability to follow directions, and sharp attention to detail
  • Knowledge of the local area and stores is a plus
  • Experience or coursework in entertainment production, arts administration, and music business.
  • Must have a working knowledge of and experience in general production and safe working practices
  • Previous experience with touring productions, musical ensembles, theatre, and dance is helpful
  • Must have a positive personality and be able to interact with people of all temperaments
