Job Summary (List Format):

- Serve as a trusted cybersecurity expert to strengthen digital infrastructure for local and state governments, with a focus on Maine.
- Coordinate, lead, and monitor statewide cybersecurity outreach initiatives, ensuring collaboration and consistent messaging among all stakeholders.
- Manage vendor relationships and contracts for cybersecurity education, outreach, and training services, ensuring compliance and performance.
- Develop and tailor educational and outreach materials to varying levels of cybersecurity understanding across local governments and partners.
- Advocate for the adoption of cybersecurity best practices and leverage state and federal resources to enhance local cybersecurity resilience.
- Identify gaps in cybersecurity resources among local governments and recommend strategic solutions, including vendor or grant-supported enhancements.
- Collaborate with the Secretary of State's Office and election officials to strengthen cybersecurity preparedness and protect election systems.
- Support strategic planning and foster cross-functional collaboration with federal, state, local, industry, and community partners.
- Independently manage tasks, assignments, and scheduling to deliver work products effectively.
- Communicate complex cybersecurity topics clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Apply knowledge of vendor management, procurement, and contract administration to ensure service quality and compliance.
- Build and sustain relationships across a diverse set of stakeholders including federal agencies, vendors, and private sector organizations.
- Assess cybersecurity maturity, identify capability gaps, and recommend practical solutions.
- Maintain strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and documentation for grant and contract compliance.
- Work independently, prioritize in a fast-paced environment, and bring adaptability and innovation to the team.
- Role is primarily remote with required quarterly in-person meetings and occasional statewide travel.
- Requires 5+ years of relevant experience in cybersecurity, strategic planning, or large-scale program coordination, preferably in the public sector.
- Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, IT, Public Administration, or related field, or equivalent experience/certifications preferred.
