Hardware/Product Safety Test EngineerPortage, MI (Onsite)We're hiring a Hardware/Product Safety Test Engineer to support the testing and validation of electronic hardware products throughout the full product lifecycle — from prototype through production release. This role will partner closely with hardware design, firmware, manufacturing, and quality teams to ensure products meet performance, reliability, and regulatory standards.ResponsibilitiesDevelop and execute hardware test plans for PCB assemblies, subsystems, and finished productsBuild and maintain hardware test setups, fixtures, and lab equipmentPerform functional, electrical, stress, environmental, and performance testingTroubleshoot hardware issues at the component, board, and system levelSupport DVT, PVT, manufacturing validation, and production bring-up activitiesCreate and maintain detailed test documentation, reports, and failure analysisCollaborate with engineering teams to improve product reliability, manufacturability, and testabilityAssist with compliance and safety testing, including EMC/EMI, ESD, thermal, and electrical safety standardsDevelop automated test scripts and tools to improve testing efficiency and repeatabilityRequired ExperienceBachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field3+ years of experience testing electronic hardware productsStrong understanding of analog/digital circuits, embedded hardware, and power systemsExperience using lab equipment such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, DMMs, signal generators, and power suppliesAbility to read schematics, PCB layouts, and technical datasheetsHands‑on experience with product safety testing and IEC 60601‑1 compliance standardsFamiliarity with compliance testing equipment including HIPOT testers and electrical safety analyzersStrong troubleshooting, root‑cause analysis, and technical documentation skillsPreferred ExperienceTest automation experience using Python or scripting toolsKnowledge of communication protocols such as I2C, SPI, UART, USB, or EthernetExperience supporting manufacturing test development and production environmentsFamiliarity with regulatory standards including FCC, CE, UL, and IEC#J-18808-Ljbffr
