The IT Product Owner drives delivery of our strategic, technology-based initiatives. This role blends product management, and project management to ensure our solutions deliver measurable business value, meet stakeholder needs, and evolve with organizational priorities. You will translate business goals into actionable product requirements and delivery plans, leading cross-functional teams through to successful delivery.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Translate business requirements into technology-based capabilities, feature sets and backlog items.
- Lead end-to-end project execution, including planning, staffing coordination, risk management, and delivery oversight.
- Collaborate closely with Engineering, Infrastructure and business partners to ensure successful execution and high-quality outcomes.
- Serve as the delivery point of contact for decisions, updates, and stakeholder communication.
- Facilitate Agile ceremonies (backlog refinement, sprint planning, reviews, demos, retrospectives) and champion Agile best practices.
- Assist in developing the product roadmap, prioritizing features based on impact, effort, and strategic value.
- Participate in the testing process through test review and analysis, test planning, and test execution when required
- Communicate priorities, tradeoffs, and delivery status clearly and proactively
- Ensure compliance, security, and operational readiness for all product releases.
- Manage software deployments and release planning
- Lead and mentor project team members
- Participate in Level II on-call support
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university and 5+ years of relevant experience, or 7+ years of equivalent experience
- Experience in Agile methodologies, backlog management, and iterative delivery.
- Demonstrated ability to translate complex business needs into product requirements.
- Experience leading cross-functional teams and managing competing priorities.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence, negotiate, and build strong relationships.
- Analytical mindset with experience using data to drive decisions.
- Demonstrated experience with tools such as Azure DevOps, MS Co-Pilot, MS Office, or similar.
- Must be flexible to work the demands of the role, which is generally limited to weekdays. But may be subject to extended hours or weekends dependent on project needs.
