Job Title: Product Owner II/III (Remote)
Pay rate: $75 - $80/hr

Job Description:

Seeking a Product Owner (PO) to support the build-out of a sales experience for a new Personal Lines Auto insurance product. You will be one of several Distribution-aligned POs creating, elaborating, and delivering an Auto backlog for a sales flow that is embedded across existing quoting applications. This sales experience will be used by Insurance Professionals representing both internal call center agents and external Independent Agents.
This role is part of Frontier and is a critical enabler of the OneAuto product release for 2027. There will be an aligned Engineering Team supporting this POs portion of the shared OneAuto backlog.
This role will report to the Director, Product Owner of the I Buy / I Sell Insurance Professional; Direct & Frontier portfolio.

Key Responsibilities
Product Ownership & Backlog Management
  • Own and maintain the product backlog, ensuring proper prioritization and alignment with business goals.
  • Create clear, actionable user stories and acceptance criteria.
  • Collaborate with Agile teams during sprint planning, demos, retrospectives, and other Agile ceremonies.
  • Work closely with engineering teams to clarify requirements and remove roadblocks.
Stakeholder Collaboration
  • Partner with stakeholders across Experience Design, Distribution, Insurance Product, IT, and business leadership.
  • Elaborate, clarify, and validate complex and evolving requirements.
  • Communicate product vision, priorities, and delivery expectations across teams and leadership levels.
  • Influence and align priorities across squads, portfolios, and functional areas.
Product Strategy & Delivery
  • Support the development of product vision and roadmap aligned to strategic priorities.
  • Contribute to portfolio-level planning and quarterly prioritization activities.
  • Monitor product health, product viability, and delivery outcomes.
  • Analyze feasibility, cost of delay, and business impacts of product decisions and changes.
Customer Experience & Innovation
  • Lead customer-driven design and usability testing initiatives.
  • Utilize user-centric design thinking and customer feedback to drive product decisions.
  • Ensure front-end experiences deliver accurate, efficient, and user-friendly quoting capabilities.
  • Drive innovation and experimentation in uncertain or evolving environments.
Compliance & Operational Alignment
  • Understand regulatory, compliance, and industry constraints impacting the product.
  • Ensure alignment between business goals and technology delivery.
  • Collaborate across teams to maintain product consistency and execution efficiency.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelors degree in Business, Computer Science, Humanities, or related field.
  • 35 years of direct experience working with Agile teams.
  • 7+ years of experience in business, technology, consulting, or product-related roles.
  • Strong understanding of Agile methodologies and IT project management.
  • Experience managing large, multi-year modernization initiatives.
  • Ability to manage complex and evolving requirements across multiple stakeholders.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and decision-making skills.
  • Proven ability to influence cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
  • Experience creating and managing backlogs, user stories, and prioritization activities.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Proficiency with Jira and Agile product ownership best practices.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Deep knowledge of Personal Lines Auto Insurance.
  • Working knowledge of Direct and Independent Agent distribution channels.
  • Experience with front-end design collaboration, UX/UI, or Experience Design teams.
  • Background in Insurance, Banking, Financial Services, or other highly regulated industries.
  • Familiarity with quoting applications and insurance sales experiences.
  • Experience with customer-driven design and usability testing.
